A pretty "sweet" way to spend an afternoon in Reykjavik!
Our tour guide Thor provided an excellent blend of history, culture, and sweets throughout our beautiful afternoon stroll through Reykjavik. The tour group ended up only being my wife and I, and Thor really took the time to engage and welcome us to Icelandic sweets. Also, as a side note - the photos taken along the way and shared after the tour were a fantastic touch for keepsake memories.

A pretty "sweet" way to spend an afternoon in Reykjavik!
Our tour guide Thor provided an excellent blend of history, culture, and sweets throughout our beautiful afternoon stroll through Reykjavik. Terrific food tasting tour with our guide Einar. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable, shared some great family stories and history that tied into our food tour, and his great sense of humor made the whole experience a lot of fun! What was especially nice about the tour was that we got to try some authentic Icelandic cuisine that we wouldn’t normally seek out like the meat soup and fermented shark. Loved the Langouistine soup, the smoked lamb tartar on sourdough, smoked salmon on rye, and the classic Iceland hotdog was absolutely delicious (get it with everything on it)! Thanks Einar for a great experience!

Fantastic Day seeing the Golden Circle

Outstanding Reykjavík Food Tasting Tour with Einar
Wonderful experience sampling traditional Icelandic cuisine with our guide Einar. He was terrific and made the tour so enjoyable with his knowledge of Icelandic history, culture and food, and great sense of humor. Was exposed to some food we wouldn’t have tried on our own like fermented shark - likely a once in a lifetime thing - and some absolutely delicious dishes at a number of excellent restaurants. Highly recommend and a big thank you to Einar for a wonderful time!!

Great food tour
During our Icelandic food tour, we stopped by the renowned Bæjarins Beztu hot dog stand in downtown Reykjavik. We savored their lamb hot dogs with a variety of toppings: uniquely made Icelandic mustard containing no mustard seeds; ketchup crafted without tomatoes but instead featuring apples; crunchy homemade dried onions and remolaði sauce. This hot dog stand was not made famous by our visit (lol) but by the likes of Bill Clinton, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.

We had a great time on this tour! Such a fun way to see parts of Reykjavik that most tourists might not see. Our guide Stefan was so knowledgeable on various Icelandic folk tales and traditions and was so animated and engaging. We will definitely be booking another tour with Your Friend in Reykjavik on our next trip to Iceland!

We did the walk with a Viking tour with Stefan IS, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. A guide who knows the history of the area, had great recommendations for food, shops, and other activities, and helped us get familiar with the city. He was knowledgeable, funny, and able to answer all the questions from the group. Highly recommended as a way to get comfortable or first day in Reykjavik. Thank You!!
