Fascinating tales
THANK YOU, we really enjoyed the experience! especially learning about the elves Pros: • great way to see parts of the city most tourists don’t get to (eg graveyard & Catholic) • the guide we had (Stefan I) was very warm and approachable and made us all laugh • you’ll learn something new ! try to be open minded • diverse topics eg elves, zombies, trolls etc Cons: • expensive • not for everyone or the faint hearted • length of time means you can only hear so much Great overall, would recommend to others! Great first thing to do in Reykjavik
This was our first stop on on first trip to Iceland. After arriving at the airport in the morning, heading to our hotel, and dropping our bags off in the hotel, we grabbed breakfast at a bakery then did this walking tour. It was an excellent way to get oriented to Reykjavik. We got our exercise in (it was not strenuous) and learned both the geography and history of the city. It was the perfect start to our trip.

Our tour guide Bo was incredibly amazing, funny and extremely knowledgeable. It was wonderful to walk through the city and hear all of the ghost stories that come from such a beautiful place.

Stefán Í was a wonderful tour guide! The Icelandic folklore tour was excellent - Stefán told us a lot about Icelandic culture, past and present. I honestly could have listened to him talk all day and he even sang us some lullabies and magic incantations which was a special treat. The pace of the tour was great and we saw some interesting landmarks I would never have stumbled across. Thank you Stefán! 😊

This was so much fun! Listening to Einar tell his stories was awesome! He was very animated and you can tell he loves what he does. It was great to learn about the history of the elves, trolls and ghosts!

Stephan I was a wonderful guide. He was very entertaining and engaging to all ages across our tour group. He was extremely knowledge and told stories at the perfect pace as we walking along the city. Would highly recommend! Tour was about 90 minutes, easy terrain and pace

Schlechte Geschichtsbeschreibung
Wie waren enttäuscht. Es war zwar windig und nicht gerade warm, aber wenn sich einige unpaasend kleiden, darf das nicht der Massstab sein. Wenn über Geschichte gesprochen wurde, was viel zu kurz kam, wurde nicht über Deutsche, sondern über "Nazis" gesprochen. Wir finden das absolut unpassend, denn nich alle Deutsche waren Nazis und erst recht nicht die jetzige Bevölkerung.

A Perfect Introduction to Reykjavík!
Fun and very informative tour! This was a great introduction to the city--ideal for the first day of your stay. We learned so much about Iceland's history and Reykjavík's culture. Our guide Ava was excellent! She could answer all of our questions and was enthusiastic about Viking history. Very highly recommend!!

Great private tour intro to Reykjavik
This private tour included only my group, which was perfect because we were very tired and jet-lagged! Our guide, Paul (Palli), was great. He met us at our hotel and modified the walk to various interests and walking speeds on the fly. He was personable and gave a great introduction for people just arriving in Reykjavik for the first time. By the end of the walk, we felt like we had a pretty good handle on the area, some good local recommendations, tasted a little local food, and confidence to go back and explore more. He made Reykjavik feel very welcoming, and we loved all the bits of history and culture he wove into the walk. Also, the office/operations support and communication by the tour company Your Friend In Reykjavik was very good as well. Recommend and would do it again!

Great tour! Bo was very knowledgeable and a great presenter. We even got some singing and poetry recitations. Highly recommend this tour if you want to know more of the folkloric traditions and ghost stories of the city.

Charming, knowledgeable, witty and so much fun! Stefan I was amazing. We learned so much about Iceland folklore.
Stefan I was a terrific guide. He showed us different sites in the city including a real Elf rock and a spooky graveyard tour. He told many stories and made us laugh and shiver too. We learned a lot about Icelandic folklore and the history of this incredible place. I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Stefan I!
