Icelandic Lore
Mathius has a real understanding of Icelandic history and culture and a great sense of humour. We learned a lot of things about Iceland that you can only learn from a local. The graveyard visit was particularly interesting and we even had a surprise visit from one of the cats of Reykjavik!

Enjoyed seeing all the history and Stefan Is was sweet and funny. Seeing and hearing about all the history was fun.

The tour was great. Learned a lot about the city's history and lore. Mathias was a gem! He was a witty, natural storyteller, and very animated. (Including sound effects) It was a great way to start a trip to the city.

Very much enjoyed our walking tour with Paul. He was full of knowledge about Reykjavik history, showed us the best spots according to our preferences, and even took us to the best place to get an authentic hotdog! Paul’s delivery and entertaining stories made the time fly by.The weather was perfect which made the tour even better. Very much recommend!

Mathias was an amazing guide. Provided a colorful history of Iceland and it's mythology. Highly recommend taking the tour!!

Time could have been better utilized.
Our guide spoke softly and lacked enthusiasm for content. I would not recommend this tour to others.

Excellent Tour and Tour Guide -- Don't Miss It
My husband and I took the tour with Matthias today and it was just excellent. Matthias is a great storyteller -- I wondered the entire time if he had an acting background. The folklore tales were rich, sometimes complex, and always presented in the most charming and interesting ways. We LOVED the visit to the cemetery -- also Mattias showed great respect for some elderly people decorating a grave, which I found very professional and kind. I recommend this tour highly and would do it again in a hearbeat.

Our guide, Óli, was great! His personal stories & experiences really accentuated the culinary experience of trying so many varied Icelandic staples & delicacies. Some were test-of-courage acquired tastes (a la fermented Greenland shark) ;-)

Way more food than I was...
Way more food than I was expecting - it wasn't just tastes, it was full dishes at each restaurant. Definitely made for a great dinner and Oli was a great tour guide with lots of information about Icelandic culture and history and the food and culture we were experiencing. Definitely a highlight of my trip.

Nice tour and a great guide
Einer was a wonderful tour guide with many amusing stories and great knowledge of the foods we were sampling. A nice way to familiarize yourself with Reykjavík and Iceland food culture. The fermented shark was the highlight.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the walking food tour. Paul was our guide. He was born and raised in Reykjavik, spent his life on the water as a fisherman. This is his retirement gig. He said he was a trained tour guide. But Paul doesn’t need training, he is both knowledgeable, personable and funny. We learned a lot and won’t need to eat anytime soon. The food was great!
