Excellent walking food tour of Reykjavík

This was a fabulous walking food tour that took about 3 1/2 hours. We got the sample various Icelandic cuisine. All of it was quite good. In addition, our guide had knowledge of local history, literature, and some folklore. He was outstanding. I would highly recommend. In addition, our guide took photographs of the entire trip as well as the group and some movie shots, which were made available to us at the end of the tour at no additional charge. Everyone who wanted to could download them for their memories. It really was an excellent tour

I did this tour with six friends. We visited four brew pubs with so many different t craft beers. Guide Olly was expert, very friendly and courteous. A great evening

Wow, what a fun afternoon! Got to try a lot of really neat Icelandic food, and the guide Frank was absolutely amazing! Very knowledgeable and took me around to some very cool non-food places to hit on some cultural and historical aspects of Reykjavik as a bonus. Really well worth it, highly recommend!

Good variety!

Had a great time with our guide who was very knowledgeable! We went to three different bars and got to try various Icelandic beers! Would highly recommend.

Eh…

The food was okay. The guide made many references to sheep dung, vomit and cat pee. Did not think that was appropriate for a food tour. The soft spoken guide talked at length about historical events and it was difficult to understand with his accent. At the end we had to bus our own dishes down a narrow staircase. Not worth the high price of this tour.

Good Arrival Tour

We had a good time doing a later tour on the day we arrived (5pm) on June 1 2025. Our guide was Helgi, he was fun and had a lot of information. I am always interested the history and culture when I travel and he provided that.

Absolutely amazing! We...

Absolutely amazing! We had such a fantastic time with Einar. He was so personable, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We learned a lot and got to visit with some adorable kitties!!! The small group was so nice and it was great to be with fellow cat lovers. Highly recommend!

Fun tour about cats and more

Einar Steinn Valgarðsson was our guide for the Cat Walking Tour. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the city cats as well as the city in general with some added mythology thrown in for fun. Love that he took pictures on the tour for us and shared them. Recommend for cat lovers and a good general easy sightseeing walk around downtown.

We had Stefán Ívarsson as our guide. He was fun and gave us lots of knowledge. Stefán was interested in everyone and asked questions about us too. The cats were cute and we were shown various artworks too.

The Reykjavik Folklore Walking Tour was a great way to combine history, folklore, sightseeing and a bit of exercise into a delightful stroll through old Reykjavik on a beautiful summer’s eve! Of course, it was our tour guide . Mathias who brought the folklore to life. He is a master storyteller, combining facts (perhaps embellished at times!) with a mischievous sense of humour ;-) Iceland is a rugged, harsh yet magical place and the tales of ghosts, elves and trolls highlight all of these aspects of the rich fabric of Icelandic culture.

We had a great time on the Folklore Tour! Mathias was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and funny, a great storyteller who made Icelandic folklore come to life. It was a great way to start our first day in Iceland. Towards the end of our stay we also went on the Cat tour and Bardi was great! He made our rainy tour a blast and easily navigated us through the Independence Day crowds. His passion for Iceland’s cutest residents shines. He successfully introduced use to all the local kitty celebrities and shared some great stories and we even got to meet his kitty family. It was a wonderful experience! Highly recommend!
