Our tour guide Stefán was very knowledgeable and shared with us some of the lore as well as history of cats in Iceland. He took us through downtown Reykjavik to see the celebrity cats and enjoy a cup of coffee at the Kattakaffihúsið. My husband and I really enjoyed this during our stay in Reykjavik

In spite of rain, our group was willing and able to follow "our friend in Reykjavik" who was easy to follow, although sometimes a little hard to hear because of background noise. He kept track of the group, taking group pictures, and recognized at one point that there were two curious interlopers, that he politely asked to leave as it was a paid-only tour.

My whole family (grownups and two boys, ages 9 and 11) really enjoyed the folklore tour with Mathias. Sometimes grownup tours are too much talking for my boys, but they loved it, as he mixed Icelandic folklore and history together with humor, some very funny jokes, and great storytelling. We all learned a lot about the city, elves, trolls, and creepy holiday characters. The walking tour was also a great way to see more of Reykjavik.

Our group had such a great time on the tour with our guide Mathias. Our ages ranged from 9-55 years and everyone had fun. The story telling was engaging and it was so interesting to learn about Iceland's folklore while also walking around some of Reykjavik. I particularly enjoyed the cemetery. It was very beautiful with all its trees.

Interesting tour but I feel visitors' experience depends very much on the individual guide and our guide leant towards passive aggressive commentary on the participants' play of origin.

Learning and Walking in Reykjavik
The tour was lots of fun! It was informative and our guide was fun to listen to. Learning about the folklore of Iceland was illuminating, and we enjoyed gaining a new perspective on the culture of the island.

I did the Reykjavik Cat Walk tour on my last day in Iceland with Your Friend in Reykjavik. I could only attend about 1.5 hours of the tour (as I had to run to catch my flight!) so I missed the last half hour, but it was still great fun! We were a group of four, and our tour guide, Bardi, was personable, funny, and knowledgeable. In addition to knowing where to seek out Reykjavik's famous cats, Bardi walked us through some famous landmarks and talked about the history of the city. It was also very clear that he was a big cat person :-). You also get to spend some time at the cat cafe downtown, and part of your ticket fee goes to the cat shelter. Excellent way to spend a couple of hours learning about Reykjavik and meeting some friendly kitties!

Excellent introduction to the city and to Iceland. Bo was awesome. Very informative and a good tour to learn the layout of the city and how easy it is to get around on foot.
