l have done many of this type of food tours over the years and can honestly say the Your friend in Reykjavik tour was probably the best one I have been on. Firstly the food choices were top quality. Guide Stephan was brilliant value and the font of knowledge on all things Iceland. Highly recommended.

Paul was an amazing guide for today’s food tour! He gave us not only delicious bites but also the stories behind each place. We tried the iconic Icelandic hot dog, rye bread with smoked salmon, hearty lamb soup, mashed fish with dark rye, and even local-style tapas. Every stop was special, and Paul made it fun and easy to explore the food culture of Reykjavík. Highly recommend this tour if you want to taste Iceland like a local!

An excellent food tour with lots of “good size” samples & full dishes at some stops with a lovely guide by the name Laufey. The photo is a dish of smoked lamb with pickles on a nicely toasted bread similar to a crusty Sourdough French Bread.

Einar was an excellent guide in Reykjavik on August 13 2025. He was very informative, answered questions and even sang for us. You couldn't hope for a better guide to learn about Reykjavik past and present.

Einar is a good guide and his ghost stories were excellent but there was not much of a walk and we had expected the stories to be linked to Reykjavik landmarks, which was not the case.

Fantastic tours! Did their "Walking with a Viking TOur" and Their "Food Tour". Loved the history and seeing the sights and the addition of the local legends, like the "fairy rock", made the experience even better. The food tour was excellent with yummy local foods, explained well, with plenty of opportunities (on both tours) to ask questions. Group size on the food tour was only 3 (some folks did not show up) and the walking tour was about 10 of us. Kudos to the team at "Your Friend in Reykjavik". AND Be sure to visit the Rekyjavik City Hall (free) to see the fabulous, large relief map of Iceland! AND if you have any interest in Viking history, go to the Settlement Exhibition in downtown Rekyjavik. AND don't miss the famous Icelandic hot dogs at the stand downtown. (small red building with the very practical wooden hot dog holders on the tables out front!)

Our guide, Anna, picked us up at our planned time and we went on to enjoy the Sky Lagoon, lunch and shopping in Reykavik and a breathtaking tour of the Reykjanes peninsula, with an on time drop off at the airport.
