This ain't Kansas
Absolutely incredible. The experience was beyond compare, we were literally in the clouds surrounded by a lush forest and plant life. Anna are guide was great at explaining the plants, trees and birds. She is a keeper.

Es war fürchterlich, völlig überteuert für das was angeboten wurde, in der ersten Stunde sind wir vielleicht 100 Meter gelaufen, von einer Wanderung kann man nicht sprechen, Erklärungen zu Natur wie für Kindergartenkinder, Vögel haben wir auch nicht gesehen, der Wald ist wunderschön, aber für diese Führung muss man kein Geld ausgeben, es ist eine absolute Abzocke, ich kann es nicht empfehlen diese Tour zu buchen

1.5 hour cloud forest tour
Anna was a fabulous guide for our 1.5 hour tour. Very knowledgeable and personable. I learned a lot! Highly recommend. It was fascinating to better understand reforestation efforts.

Slow paced, family friendly, nature loving tour
Being in the heart of a jungle forest built because of human problem solving and ingenuity was a once in a lifetime experience. Daniel was such an enthusiastic and passionate advocate for the flora— it was inspiring and life affirming to the max. Having my 4 yr old on the trip was easy because the group was gracious and the hike wasn’t intense at all. I also did this with my elderly in laws (65+ and moderately active). I highly recommend this tour for anyone who needs a slower paced, nature loving and family friendly experience.

You won’t be disappointed!
What a wonderful way to spend a few hours in the Kona rain forest! Our guide Taryn was amazing to say the least! She is incredibly passionate about sustainability and reforestation. She is like an encyclopedia filled with knowledge that she gained on her own. I could have sworn she had a doctorate degree in all things trees, birds, plants and fungus 😁 This is a must see on your list of things to do while in Kona, Hawaii! You won’t be disappointed!

Unforgettable Experience
A huge shout out to our amazing guide Daniel, whose passion and deep knowledge brought the entire forest to life. He taught us so much about the unique ecosystem, the native and introduced species, and the delicate balance that makes this sanctuary so special. His storytelling made every step along the path meaningful and engaging. We’re also incredibly grateful to Professor Norman for creating and preserving this extraordinary place. It's clear how much love and care has gone into maintaining the sanctuary. I loved how Daniel referred to is as a living classroom And how could we forget Grandma Phyllis and her rubber tree? Super cool story behind this, ask Daniel if you get the chance to go!

must do on your trip
This is a great experience and chance to learn about Hawaii. Anna was an amazing tour guide and answered all of the group questions. The hike takes 2.5 hours but there are many breaks to learn about the plants and explore part of the cloud forest.

We did the sound bath, which was a great experience. They provide you with blankets to keep you cozy too! Everyone that works there is kind and genuine.

Excellent and educational adventure
Daniel was an excellent guide! His knowledge and enthusiasm made our experience very enjoyable. It was a beautiful and interesting! It’s a must to use the bamboo poles since there are many exposed roots, but this was not a negative. I highly recommend supporting this endeavor.

This was a great experience! Highly recommend! We spent the entire time with an expert on the plants and animals in the forest. He explained everything very clearly and completely and was very nice! They need your support to help improve the forest. Please support them!

Not a Native Hawaiian Jungle!
This is not a tour of a native Hawaiian jungle! Do not take this tour if you want to see and learn about native Hawaiian plants and trees. The location of the Cloud Forest Tour was actually a cattle farm that a college professor purchased and "reclaimed" from a mountain grassy cattle pasture to a tropical jungle. What is surprising is that he and his fellow workers used trees and plants from all over the world. Their efforts to reforest former grass lands are to be applauded, but if you are expecting to see a Hawaiian jungle and learn about native plants, you will be disappointed.

The venue was magical. The session was thoughtfully guided with each tone and vibration mixed with the sound of the rain and the birds. I left, feeling refreshed and more connected - highly recommend for anyone seeking stress, relief or inner clarity.

Reconnect with nature. Visit the Cloud Forest!
Had no expectations. Saw that it was a nature tour which was enough to pique our interest. The experience was so much more. The forest is located about 3000 ft(?) above sea level maybe 10 miles from Kailua-Kona beaches, but may as well be on another planet. The forest is lush and 15-20 degrees cooler than the beaches. The topography causes clouds to form from which the canopy trees gather water through condensation. The trees release their water to the ground level plants. Then our minds are really blown. The forest is the result of a 40+ year ongoing research project started by a local university professor to restore an ecosystem on land that had been clear cut and transformed into a cattle ranch. The forest is mission focused and provides educational opportunities for local children (and tourists) and research opportunities for university students. Our tour guide Bri shared stories about the project, native plants, and even some personal stories. She started the tour off by noting that the forest is a place “For-Rest”. It was an escape that we needed and appreciated. Most of all, it was inspiring of what is possible when a person has a vision, plan, and will to make a difference.

Tropical Paradise Relaxation
Enjoyed a relaxing sound bath outside in the lush cloud forest. Highly recommended! Even if you have never done a sound bath, this is a wonderful place to start.

Esperienza bellissima ed estremamente interessante. Guida ( terrain) appassionata ed estremamente disponibile. Dal mare circa una ventina di minuti di guida su una strada già spettacolare di suo almeno nel tratto finale. Parcheggio disponibile al lato della strada
