Heavenly experience in the cloud forest
My husband and I took some friends with us to the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary for a sound bath and a guided hike through the cloud forest. This was my second visit to the sanctuary and I enjoyed it just as much the second time as the first time. I highly recommend both experiences. The sound bath is a meditation in the cloud forest to the sounds of gongs, singing bowls, and chimes. It was very relaxing to listen to the musical sounds as well as he bird songs, as we let the stresses of life leave us and immerse ourselves into the natural surroundings. Our guide on the forest hike was excellent. It was obvious that he loved the sanctuary, loved nature, and loved meeting new people. We learned a lot about the forest plants and ecosystem. There was a light rain during the entire hike which added to the ambiance of being in a cloud forest. I highly recommend this experience for both Big Island residents and visitors.

Peaceful Walk in the Cloud Forest
Peaceful Walk through the Cloud Forest Informative experience. Anna was great as she explained the hybrid reforestation. We learned the names of several trees. Loved the beautiful trunks of the Rainbow Eucalyptus. Would like to try the Sound Meditation the next time.

Absolutely recommend
We really enjoyed our tour with Daniel. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. The tour was very informative. The place is beautiful, plants are gorgeous. Even my husband, who is not a plants lover, had a great time and learned a lot.

Sound Bath
We did the sound bath. It was fantastic. Quite meditative. The daughter of the founder did the sound bath; she’s well-trained. It’s a one of a kind experience in a truly unique place.

Birding!
Anna was incredible; she made us feel at ease and present in the moment. It was our first time birding, and we had no idea what to expect. Not only were the birds abundant, but the hike and forest left us in awe. I highly recommend this experience!

Ahhhhh! Such a lovely walk!
This place is a hidden gem! The 2.5 hr hike was more of a leisurely walk in the woods. Our guide, Daniel, was great. It was obvious that he loved sharing the wonders of this place. Its a small group experience so you it feels like a hike with friends. The sound of birds. The smell of plants and earth..... Top it off with the sound bath meditation experience!

Amazing place to visit
This was a very interesting walk-through a private forest. We learned a lot about the ecology of the island and saw some really interesting plants. The flowers were also very pretty. Anna was an amazing guide and explained everything to us very well. Overall, we all enjoyed it

Bird Watching Tour
My family did the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary Bird Watching Tour. We saw 11 different kinds of birds native to the island. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the environment, plants and birds. We really enjoyed the tour and were glad we made time for it. We would recommend.

Best Tour Guide!
We had a great time and learned so much about the plants and trees of the sanctuary. Anna was an amazing guide. Her knowledge of the species of plants, birds of Hawaii was top notch. I have had scientific tours from Africa to the Galapagos and her delivery and depth of knowledge was fun, very informative and educational on a sophisticated and easy to absorb level. That is talent! She even spotted 3 hawks all together for us - such a rare sighting too!

Great 2-hour birdwatching and forest hike
We had the best bird watching experience at the Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary! Got a great introduction to native and introduced birds in Hawaii, and spent time in a wonderful forest environment 3000 feet above Kona. Our guide Anna was super knowledgeable, not only about birds but the forest ecology as well - definitely recommend this activity!

Totally worth it!
I was a little hesitant about the cost of this tour, but we went anyway. It was totally worth it! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the flora and was able to give historical and histological accounts of everything we saw. He answered questions with confidence and made the tour fun. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone on the island!

Once in a lifetime experience
Awesome experience. Learning about the sanctuary and immersing in nature was so peaceful. Our guide, Anna, was amazing. We also did the sound bath with Brooke after our tour. Very relaxing. Definitely recommend checking this place out for a unique experience.
