I love this Zoo. Been going here since i was 7 years old, now i bring my kiddos as well. Houston Zoo has done much development and is always evolving as they care for the animals homed there.

We went on a Tuesday when the zoo opened, there was minimal crowding and we were able to spend plenty of time at each exhibit. Food options were good, affordable, and came out fast. There are plenty of shaded areas and seating throughout the zoo. Parking was easy in the morning as well.

Staff not proper on letting people know which tickets they have and the things we are able to do with these offers. $350 for 5 kids and two adults . Never again . Called to explain the issue i had and got no help , she instead told me to email and they were not giving partial refunds . Just sad we purchased things we didn’t even get to see. The zoo staff and from ticket sales people need to explain things more as far as events there at the zoo etc. with people coming from out of state to visit . Instead they want to just make sure you have a ticket before letting you in . $$$ it seems this place cares about more than their customers.

Bring your wagon, water bottles and walking shoes. It gets hot in the summer but there are places to cool off (Galapagos, bug house, etc). And ironically the little guy will not leave the playground by the goat petting area!
