I just want to give a shout out to a gentleman named Markeith (Keith) who works there. He was working yesterday when I took my family to the Zoo. He went out of his was to educate my girls about some of the animals. He knew where everything was, he wasn’t bothered by all the questions my kids asked and knew the names of the animals too. Which made us feel more connected to the Chimpanzees giraffes, gorillas and more. In all we had an amazing time and he made the experience all the better.

We love the Houston Zoo! So many awesome animals in interactive and engaging habitats. Many are tucked into buildings cooled with AC to help offset the Houston heat. Holidays are an even better experience with so many extra decorations and lights. There's a photo opp on every corner! The carousel is a favorite every time we visit!

I haven't been to the zoo in years. They have made some great changes. For example the sea lion exhibit. Now instead of looking down on them, u have an even better experience with the new underground water view. Also, another new place opened in the last year is called the wild life workshop. Its a great family place to bond and fun small activities for kids. There is also an opportunity to sign up for volunteering with the zoo. My children and me have signed up for the Oct 31st trash pick up and another in November for planting. I love the amazing facts u can read all over the zoo. A must go!
