The zoo is WAY bigger than it looks. Plan at least 4 hours here to be able to see Everything. The exhibits were very nice but some were a little dirty, main bathrooms were gross. Hidden bathrooms, clean. We went during ZooBoo for a date and had an amazing time. All the extra decorations were so cute. Absolutely loved how open the exhibits were as well. Now the part I absolutely demise. The entry photos. They took 3 photos upon immediately after walking through the front gate... cute, love that. But when it came to picking up the 'free' photo. Totally scammed me, lady was rude, and I hated that they chose the impromptu photo over the poses. And that's where they get you. They catch you off guard with the first photo and then take 2 really cute ones. Then turn around and try to sell you the cute ones for almost 45$ as large prints. As a professional photographer... this is such a WASTE OF Photo PAPER. Which is laminated and MUCH harder to break down in the waste. They say they're an eco friendly establishment but probably wastes thousands of dollars a day on printed images. That's my only 'not it' for this place. Other than that. Had a lot of fun.

We had a wonderful visit to the zoo on a great fall afternoon. I was most impressed with the staff and their level of customer service. The care for families and especially the children having a memorable but safe experience was noticed. The conservation and care for the animals and the planet message was clear and respected at all levels in a positive way. We truly enjoyed our visit.**Note: parking is very limited but available if everyone works together to be patient. See the website and follow the suggestions. Thank you Houston Zoo!

Amazing place for the family and children of all ages as well as adults, so much to do so much to see food is great, it's the Houston zoo so food and other items aren't cheap, for example I paid $9.00 for a can soda but if you ask me this location is very worth visiting & enjoying sometime with the family, so much to do and so much to see that not once did any of my kids pick up their phones! We paid for the family membership passes so we'll be coming back as much as we can for the next year!
