Wouldn't sell tickets at the gate. You have to buy online before you get there. That's just dumb

Too bad it does not have a negative star rating it’s amazing how a place in the heart of the biggest city in the world has such a problem with parking. I had seven tickets paid for online arrive 45 min early with two toodles drove all around the parking lot was stuck in traffic never found a parking stop an lost my tickets

This zoo is beautiful and clean, zoo helpers were friendly and informative, my 8yr old even got a free carousel ride for it being her bday, my only complaint, yes there's 1, would be the staff at the drink/ snack stations..... had 2 encounters with 2 lady's that were rude. Responding with "huh" and "what you say??", no "thank you" or "have a nice day" after our transactions, not to mention the popcorn was stale. They didnt seem like they wanted to be there.... other than that the zoo itself is beautiful and big, good walk and lots of shaded areas.

We found this to be a wonderful zoo! We travel a lot and have gone to many zoos in big and small cities and the best thing about this zoo was 99% of the animals were present in their enclosures. We really appreciated that. As an aside, there was a young black woman working in the Twigga cafe who we observed being SO KIND to many people. We were there on a VERY hot day and she was offered to bring ice water to an elderly woman and her tiny granddaughter who looked overheated and were taking refuge in the cafe. The same young lady was checking on everyone with genuine concern because so many people were just trying to get out of the heat. She also held the door for a woman in a wheelchair whose partner was struggling to get through it. I wish I would have taken note of her name while we were there.

Fantastic zoo. Animals were active even in the rain but they still gave them the option to shelter if need be and all the employees seemed nice. Houston pd being there was was very nice and one of the officers and I spoke about security at such a park and he was very Informative and professional. Only things that seemed lacking was food (but its a zoo so no big deal) and signage for areas seems smaller and would be easy to miss. I do appreciate the multiple handicap available areas including the adult changing room(no one really does this and its a shame). Overall this place is worth a visit and a return visit after.
