It's an okay zoo. Clean, easy to walk around, and good for the kids. But honestly, a lot of the animals are small and hard to see — many were hiding or sleeping, so we spent half the time staring at empty enclosures. Go early in the morning when the animals are more active. Worth one visit, but don't expect too much.

Absolutely love the zoo and love supporting them and the fantastic work they do. Christmas Zoo Lights is so much fun to see, we go every year. Our 2 favorite exhibits are the giraffes and the elephants. We have been members for a few years now and we will continue to be members as long as we are in Houston. 10/10 one of our favorite spots to go to on a hot/cool weekend. My only advice would be to bring your own food/beverages and sunblock!

This is one of our top pass times while visiting Houston. This zoo is one of the best in the country in my opinion. The layout, seasonal themes, and extra activities offered make this experience worth the trip. We can easily spend 6 hours here without noticing. Animal habitats are very well planned out as well.

The roads to get to the zoo are horrible, two lanes that go down to one. Parking sucks! Too many idiots that will straight up take your spot like if it was a life/death situation. The zoo itself is nice but it's stressful getting there and leaving.
