Parking is an issue. Facilities were in decent shape. The cafe staff were nice and helpful.

It has been a few years since I had been there and was really impressed with the improvements. There were several volunteers on hand to answer questions and the zoo staff was available and friendly.

There were 3 employees at the entrance but we had to purchase tickets through their QR code. Staff was rude when we asked for assistance. No food/drinks counters were open with 2 hours left until closing. The zoo itself was very nice

I love the Houston Zoo since I was a kid, but do not go to the petting animals sections if Kylie and Dennis are there they were both very rude!! My daughter Barely grabbed a rope and (Kylie)thought she was going under the rope to where the other animals were but my daughter wasn’t she barely touched the rope I was watching her the entire time taking photos. and she yelled at my daughter “no thank you no thank you no thank you no thank you five times out loud”. even after I grabbed my daughter she said it. I approached her privately away from everybody because I did not want to cause a scene and when I was speaking to her privately, I approached her nicely and said “my daughter started crying as soon as you said that especially 5 times you scared her”, and before I continued, she rudely interrupted me, saying “I never said it five times” and “I said I have two ears to where I could hear im not trying to be a dick I’m just letting you know”. I was speaking with another member about it when she was nicely telling me who to speak to about this situation and than Dennis rudely interrupted (even got closer to try and intimidate me) and said this problem can’t get resolved here and started raising his voice in front of my daughter which I quickly corrected him. If you don’t like your job, Kylie and Dennis then find another job where you don’t have to interact with kids and people. I hate leaving bad reviews seriously! But some people cannot be working in family/friendly environment with this disrespect.

My two boys loved it. Had a good time petting animals and seeing animals. Enjoyed the playground. Waiting for Halloween to go back.

Houston Zoo is a wonderful place to visit in Houston. The zoo is spacious, clean, well maintained, and surrounded by beautiful greenery. There are many different animals to see, and the exhibits are nicely organized and easy to explore. It’s a great place for families, children, and anyone who loves nature and wildlife. A fun and relaxing experience, and definitely worth visiting!”
