The Houston Zoo is the best! Animals look well cared for and exhibits, pathways, and eating areas are always clean. Clean air conditioned bathrooms available throughout the zoo.

The first issue that must be assessed is Parking. You might need to get there prob around 7-8 am at the latest or there will be absolutely no parking. We had to find public parking all they way around the hospital which was $17 dollars and the uber to the zoo which was an additional $10… it was just me and my spouse but I cannot imagine a fam with 2-3 kids with bags and wagon having to this. Inside some areas were just ok, most animals were either hidden/sleeping or the enclosure was closed. In my opinion, the zoo has way more potential. You can go around it in just 2 hours easily. It would be so cool if the zoo was more interactive

Houston has a wonderful Zoo!!! They do great events and always have something hands on for the kiddos! on top of that, they have events for the adults as well. Recommend a zoo pass. It pays for its self!

Very well maintained zoo similar to the one in Chicago,but I really liked the giraffes and the longhorns. Fascinating, and the animals are incredibly well cared for.
