had an exceptional experience here being our first time visiting. we were amazed at the abundant collection of animals to see. I'm not even entirely sure we were able to see every single one. would absolutely recommend any one bringing their little ones here.

Didn't have the seals available but the rest of the park was really nice. Free parking and what they give to veterans... 10/10

This by far is the best zoo in the United States! Our Houston Zoo has it going on. I love the transformation that our zoo has made. It's modern and so lively. It's just a beautiful zoo! The staff was great, and the animals were amazing. The ice cream....Omg sooo good! Also, the water from that aluminum can...refreshing. I spent my birthday with these lovelies. Take your families, friends, or just go solo. It is a peaceful and tranquil place to be.

**Houston Zoo – Disappointed with the Visit** *Visited: Saturday, March 21, 2026 | Party: 2 adults, 1 toddler | Paid: $141* We arrived at the Houston Zoo at 11:30 AM on a Saturday with high hopes, especially with a toddler excited to see the animals. Unfortunately, the visit turned out to be a major disappointment. For the price we paid, we expected to see the zoo's featured animals — lions, tigers, cougars, cheetahs, monkeys, and hippos — but nearly all of them were nowhere to be found. The only animals we could actually see were the ones that had no place to hide, like the elephants and giraffes, along with the indoor exhibits such as the aquarium. I understand animals aren't performers, but I do think the zoo should have staff stationed near enclosures to engage the animals and give visitors — especially young children — a real chance to observe them. Kids come to zoos to learn and connect with wildlife, and that's hard to do when the exhibits are essentially empty. For $141, this experience fell far short of expectations. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it to other families.

Our favorite place to visit on a nice day. We are pass holders and have gone over 50 times this year. Wonderful exhibits for a baby to learn and experience a world away from the home. We stay away from weekend and holidays visits since the crowds are overwhelming. Highly suggest weekday visits for best experience. They offer 2 nursing rooms as well for new mothers!

went here with my boyfriend on vacation and it is so far the best zoo either of us have been to <3 we love how they are focused on the health and safety of the animals♡ it was a bit pricey, around 36 dollars per adult ticket, and the line for us was HUGE. got there at 8:50 for my 9:00 ticket and the line was already down the sidewalk, so there was a bit of a wait but the staff communicated things effectively. My bf and I were asked if we wanted a free picture and she took three pictures of us, two with cute poses, and gave us a ticket to take to the booth. you get a little print of the plain pic for free :) the other larger prints were I think 3 for 40 or 25 each? the animals were very cute and lively and seemed very happy:) the zookeepers were nice and took care of the animals well :)
