What a great time. I took the kiddos and we spent all day there. We saw flamingos and monkeys and spent a lot of time in the playground area.

We had an incredibly disappointing experience last weekend. We arrived at 9:30 AM, but many animal exhibits were completely empty. To make matters worse, staff members told us that several areas were closed and wouldn't open for another two hours, which is unacceptable for a morning visit. A huge portion of the zoo is currently under construction and fenced off. Despite having a family pass, we paid an extra $40 only to see a handful of animals. The entire walk-through took only 30 minutes because so much was closed or vacant. It is very frustrating to pay full price (and extra) when half the zoo is a construction zone and the other half isn't even "open" for visitors who arrive early. Save your money until they actually finish the renovations and coordinate their opening times.

Great exhibits, friendly employees everywhere to answer questions. Saw tons of animals. Fed the giraffes! I was alone and employees offered to take pictures for me. The food was even pretty decent, and not badly priced. Got the patty melt and fries and vanilla ice cream. Drinks were definitely overpriced. I mean 6.50 for water, COME ON. Y'all are wrong for that. Gift shop was decently priced. Free parking was awesome! Definitely going to go back in the fall when the summer rush and heat are over.

I went to the Houston Zoo early because I read that parking can be a problem. I arrived early and was able to find a really good parking spot. I really enjoyed the experience. The only thing is that there are several areas under construction as they expand the zoo, so some animals weren’t on display, and it was a bit noisy. But overall, it was a really beautiful experience. My recommendation is to go early to get parking, but it is possible to find a spot. Also, wear comfortable shoes because you’ll walk a lot—I did 10,000 steps inside! And definitely set aside the whole day because it’s really worth it.

My family and I had a great time at zoo. We went minutes after they opened and left a hour and a half before closing. We visited every exhibit. It was super exciting for the kids to learn and the wife and I to spend time together.

We had a great time, we came on Tuesday so it was not many people and the zoo and restrooms were kept nice and clean. Everything is expensive per usual but all in all a good experience. Staff was friendly . Apparently zoo closed at 5 today and they were just following us around for us to leave although we were already were going to towards the exit which was not pleasant. I understand they wanna make sure no one is left behind but I feel like they could've gone in a different manner instead dod essentially escorting us to the exit like we were criminals or something

My son really enjoyed it, especially seeing the animals up close. It was a fun and memorable experience for all of us.
