Got there right a 8am after a lumberjack slam at Dennts as we were about to walk 5+ miles and boy did we! A great layout and very clean zoo. Lots of restrooms and water stations. Go early beat the heat crowds and see the animals while they are active. Great day.

I’ve been waiting for about two years to do the elephant experience. Back in January of 2026, I was told I would be placed on a waitlist and notified when the experience became available again since it had been sold out for quite some time. Unfortunately, I never received an email or any notification and we are no in August. I’m now finding out that the experience is available again, but the price has doubled from $200 per person to $400 per person. It’s extremely disappointing to have waited this long, been told I would be notified, and then find out on my own that it returned at twice the price. For those traveling from outside of Texas who also have to pay for airfare and a hotel, $400 per person is difficult to justify. There are more affordable animal experiences in places like Florida and the Caribbean where you can interact with multiple animals for considerably less. Unfortunately, at this new price point, I will be looking elsewhere.

Love the zoo they have their areas very clean. Is it pretty big lots of walking lots of stuff for the kids to see and interact with also has a lot of good shaded areas. Some of the areas for the animals are indoor which helps when it’s really hot outside and there are bathrooms in every area with changing stations for children. Food and drinks are definitely pricey. I would say bring your own water bottle and refill your water bottle at the water bottle stations.
