Even on a rainy day most of the animals out, and not as many people. The giraffe feeding experience is a definite must! You can spend 4-5 hours there easy!

I enjoy visiting zoos. I've been to several through the years, including San Diego and National Zoo. The Houston Zoo is not the best, but it is enjoyable and all flat. So, no walking up and down slopes, if you have difficulties doing that. The Houston Zoo is very busy on the weekends and holidays. We usually go on weekdays. The parking is free, but will fill up on weekends and holidays. They also have strollers, wheelchairs, and electric scooters for rent, if needed or wanted. During the summer it can get pretty hot, but there are places to cool down and still see animals.

Parking was a ZOO. It took 30 min to find a parking place and when I found a parking spot it was in a lot that was not near the Zoo. Parts of the zoo are under construction so there were detours but the signage was good.

The Houston Zoo is fun but just don't think you can come here and see everything in one day because it's a lot and you will be exhausted. There's a lot of walking involved. But overall it's a fun day and your kids will love it. There's plenty of places to rest and benches everywhere

This zoo made my entire trip. We managed to meet the zoos ambassadors Gary and Millie the 6 banded and 3 banded armadillos, with a huge help from Sarah, Emelie and Mia. It was such a fantastic day despite the weather. Meeting the armadillos made my Dads trip and year. I can't fault this zoo.
