The Houston Zoo offers a wide variety of animals to see. My advice for attending would be to hydrate WELL before arriving. Especially on hit days. The zoo offers plenty of shade and refreshment kiosk. Due to the heat, I had to stop a few times to cool down. Perhaps go from November to March to avoid warmer temps.

It was great zoo. The only thing that we have to consider is the parking place. It took me for 20 min to find the place

Awesome family fun and easy to park. We barely stopped moving for the 5-6 hours we were in the park, highly recommend going!

Even on a rainy day most of the animals out, and not as many people. The giraffe feeding experience is a definite must! You can spend 4-5 hours there easy!

I enjoy visiting zoos. I've been to several through the years, including San Diego and National Zoo. The Houston Zoo is not the best, but it is enjoyable and all flat. So, no walking up and down slopes, if you have difficulties doing that. The Houston Zoo is very busy on the weekends and holidays. We usually go on weekdays. The parking is free, but will fill up on weekends and holidays. They also have strollers, wheelchairs, and electric scooters for rent, if needed or wanted. During the summer it can get pretty hot, but there are places to cool down and still see animals.
