I had the best day ever! It wasn’t busy on a Sunday, you can bring ur own food and drinks. Tickets were $40 each for general admission for Sunday.

The Zoo looks and feels refreshed. The new cafe/restaurant at the entrance looks great, this caused the other restaurants workload to be balanced, no more crazy lines. The new order system is a great improvement and the experience was good. It takes time to read the prompts and select the correct tap. The buzzer worked well and service was fast. Overall a great family experience.

We had a blast at the Zoo! I had not been since school field trips in the mid-90s, so it was exciting to see how much has changed. There was no shortage of shaded areas and spots to rest, with plenty of options for water and refreshments. The bathrooms were clean and accessible. Definitely worth the trip and a great way to spend a morning.

During my stay in Houston back in October 2014, my friends and I spent a wonderful Saturday exploring the Houston Zoo. It was the perfect recreational getaway. What I loved most about this zoo is how green, shaded, and well-landscaped it. Walking through the pathways felt like strolling through a beautiful park. The exhibits are spacious and the animals are well cared for. It’s an amazing, relaxing place to visit with friends or family.

We love the Houston Zoo. My family is eager to get there as the gates open at 9am. The staff is always very welcoming and ready to snap our photo for a free print. The interactive map on the zoo website has been a great addition and is so helpful in navigating the large layout. This most recent visit on May 30 was the most active we have seen the animals here. They were probably elated that it was finally not raining. From the reptiles to the elephants, my kids LOVE every moment of our zoo. I recommend the membership, all levels are great — we love the bring our friends and selected the highest level to bring in 10 adults and unlimited kiddos each time.

On cooler days, this is one of our favorite places to go. Our zoo pass pays for itself within the first few times, and every visit uncovered something new. I'm looking forward to the next time we visit.

Some of the signs are confusing, you can't locate animals in all cases.
