(Translated by Google) Buying tickets online is very easy and quick. The path through the trees and water fountains makes it very comfortable. An excellent option for a whole day out with the family. Houston zoo has a wide variety of animals which are fun to explore and learn about as you walk through the exhibits. During summer months it can get really crowded. That, plus the lack of shade in most of their park, makes the heat hard to manage. They do have a few water mist stations which are nice. They have partnered with some colleges around Houston so on specific days they give university / college students free or reduced ticket pricing for entry depending on the college you go to, the rates vary. So definitely worth it to check out if you’re a student. During winter they have their annual zoo lights, which are fun to walk through and experience at least once. The animals are not really visible since it’s in the evening, but the main attraction / selling point for zoo lights is the light attraction anyway. Not the best winter light attraction in town, also not the worst. Tickets are a bit over priced considering you don’t get to see the animals. But overall pretty average experience. Anytime you go the smell is usually really overwhelming though, since when you first walk in, the elephant exhibit is really close by to the entrance. Snacks carts are really over priced also, as can be expected, and not that good. Recommend eating before or afterwards, there’s a lot of great spots in town near the zoo. Overall a good place to visit once in a while and it’s a nice day activity for small children. Wear a hat and bring shade + sunscreen to avoid heat stroke or sunburn!☀️

(Translated by Google) Honestly, it's not worth paying so much for the tickets since you can't even see the animals in this sun and heat. Imagine, the rest is just a green area to relax in; that's the only thing. They should lower the price a bit. (Original) La verdad no cale la pena pagar tanto por las entradas ya que ni ves los animales con este sol y calor ni los ves imagínate lo demás es área verde para descansar es lo.unico deberían de bajar un poco el precio

Really loved this zoo. There are enough indoor exhibits to cool off if needed. Lots to see here!

Most of the domestic animals were asleep (possibly from tranquilizers) and spent soooo much $$$
