Love the zoo! Used to have pass when kids were younger and went all the time. Brought grandkids the time. Have to say, it really angered me that I went to window to be informed that tickets were only online. Fine, but had to walk away because roof prevents it from loading. After several minutes of refreshing, tickets finally loaded. Must say I am saddened that the zoo has taken away the personal, human touch. And really not happy they have my info now and will probably receive 10,000 emails from zoo. I just wanted tickets from a person. Will say, the lady at window could tell I was distraught and gave my grandkids free tickets to feed the giraffes. A little humanity helped restore my mood and I was once again able to enjoy this wonderful zoo..... aside from all the construction.

Excellent zoo. I purchased an elephant bath experience for my mom's birthday, and we were SO impressed with the staff. They truly care about the animals here. 100% recommend.

The Houston Zoo is nice. Another thing that is nice are the wonderful, friendly, kind & compassionate Hare Krishna people. They sing, dance, give away free peanut butter fudge, give knowledge & and love & happiness every Saturday. They are outside the Houston Zoo entrance starting at 4:00 pm. Thank God for them. In God we trust.

(Translated by Google) Hi, I have a question. Do I need to have already bought tickets to go, or can I buy them when I arrive? And how much are they for 2-year-olds and adults? If you could give me that information, I'd appreciate it, as I've been calling your number and no one answers. Thank you! (Original) Hola una pregunta para ir debo ya haber comprado las entradas o puedo comprarlas al llegar? Y en cuanto están para niños de 2 años y adultos si pudieran darle información, es que llamo a su número y nadie responde GRACIASS!!!

The zoo is very big and mazy. I enjoyed it. Go on a cool but beautiful day. It was so hot the day I went, it was unenjoyable.

The Houston Zoo has a large parking lot, a variety of exhibits to explore, gift shops, food/drinks available for purchase (pricy but tastes good), and helpful staff. Great experience for people of all ages and family friendly!

If you plan on coming here I definitely recommend arriving as early as possible; parking lots fill up fast, especially on the weekends! Buy your tickets in advance, makes walking in a breeze. Food is a bit on the pricey side but at least it tastes good lol Same thing with the gift shop; pricey, but that's usually how it is in most places like this. Staff is polite & helpful in pointing you in the right direction (partner & I have a horrible sense of direction even with maps). Overall a pretty fun experience. It's definitely wheelchair friendly, although if you plan to rent one keep in mind it's first come first serve! Oh and- bring a hat, sunscreen & a few water bottles. You'll definitely need them!
