The collaboration with indigenous partners through Taproot Tours for the Stories from the Salish Sea whale watch tours created an amazing experience! Kalyn and Owen shared ancestral wisdom, language and stories that were a gift to recieve…and then we all saw grey whales feeding close to the shore-another gift! Highly recommend this!

Wonderful tour with comfortable ship and knowledgeable staff

This was an excellent boat tour and the whales did not disappoint. We went on Tuesday July 7th in the morning. We saw several orcas and a humpback. Our tour was especially fortunate to see the orcas during a feeding ritual where they breached the surface more frequently. I also appreciated the comforts of the ship. It was a brisk day and we chose to sit mainly in the climate controlled covered part on the bottom of the boat. It offered big windows with spectacular views. Additionally, the boat was very comfortable. It had clean restrooms, a variety of food options, and even had charging ports next to the seats. I so appreciated that since I was just using my phone to get pics. But perhaps the best part was that the naturalist on board had a large, professional camera that she took pictures with. After the tour was completed, we received a link to download the photos free of charge. Amazing! It really allowed us to stay in the moment with the wildlife. Thank you to the whole crew for a wonderful tour!

Don’t waste your time and money!

A 4 hour trip and only saw 3 whale fins from about a mile away. Waste of morning for our 4 day trip.

Pretty smooth trip to Victoria 7/1. Enjoyed Comfort VIP class (see pic - list of benefits) which includes snacks and soft drinks and a comfortable seating area. Kristin was very attentive and helpful. The Seattle pier 69 location allows easy access by taxi, uber, and limo. The check-in process, waiting area, and boarding process were all efficient and well organized. Clipper employees are very helpful and professional.

Get great seats if weather will be great

Relaxing trip between Seattle & Victoria. We got the first class type seats as we were celebrating my motherinlaw's birthday. Luckily the weather was clear, otherwise it might not have been worth the money for special seats. Very comfortable. On am trip to Victoria, the staff took food / drink orders in our section, but on the return trip to Seattle next day, they did not. Not sure why.

We recently used the FRS Clipper for a two-night trip from Seattle to Victoria, British Columbia, and overall had a very positive experience. While it is not an inexpensive way to travel, it is certainly one of the fastest and most convenient ways to reach Victoria by water. The online booking process was straightforward and user-friendly. We appreciated the detailed information provided about parking, check-in, and arrival procedures. Drop-off and pick-up in Seattle were easy to navigate, and the terminal is located in a convenient area along the waterfront. One of our favorite first impressions was the beautiful flower-lined walkway leading toward the boat, which set the tone for a wonderful trip. The boarding process was organized, and the staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating throughout our journey. Our sailings were not full, so lines remained manageable, although the process can feel a bit slow at times. We can imagine that on a full sailing it could take considerably longer. One area that could be improved is seating in the Seattle waiting area, as there is limited space available before boarding and many passengers end up standing. The vessel itself was comfortable, clean, and offered excellent views throughout the crossing. We were pleasantly surprised by how smooth the ride was and experienced no seasickness at all. For those who may be concerned, the Clipper offers complimentary motion-sickness tablets. Safety information was clearly communicated, and the crew did a great job keeping passengers informed. Food and beverages are available for purchase onboard. While we found prices to be on the high side, the bigger issue was availability. On both crossings, several menu items were sold out. During our morning sailing to Victoria, nearly all of the breakfast sandwiches were unavailable despite us visiting the counter relatively early. We also appreciated the destination information provided both online and during the voyage. The Clipper does a nice job helping visitors prepare for their time in Victoria and highlighting attractions and activities in the area. Travelers should be aware that customs and immigration procedures are required when entering both Canada and the United States. The process was efficient but does add some time when disembarking. Most importantly, the destination is absolutely worth the trip. Victoria is a stunning city filled with beautiful gardens, historic architecture, waterfront views, excellent dining, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to fall in love with. Overall, we would gladly use the FRS Clipper again. Friendly staff, comfortable vessels, beautiful scenery, and the convenience of traveling directly between downtown Seattle and downtown Victoria make it a great transportation option for anyone planning a visit to Vancouver Island.
