Disappointing experience – not worth the price. I was disappointed with this tour and wouldn't recommend it, especially given how expensive it is. After cruising for over an hour and a half, we only saw two whales and a few seals, all from quite a distance. Having taken similar whale watching tours in the past with much better experiences, this one fell short. Save your money.

The whale watching tour was a great experience! We saw three gray whales, seals and seal ions. The crew us very friendly and accommodating. We had a great time on board!

Wildlife is wildlife and you can't board expecting to see something. We were lucky enough that we saw a humpback and a grey whale. Xack was our naturalist and photographer and he was amazing. The captain made sure to give us a smooth ride while sticking around to make sure everyone sees the whales and get pictures. Staff was mindful of everyone's experience. Comfortable seating, with warm interior and open air seating upstairs. Drinks were delicious, must try their signature drink. Thanks for a great day.

Excellent tour! Our guide was great, the ride was smooth, and the whale watching was incredible. Got to watch a Gray Whale eat right along the shoreline for a long time. Smooth sailing from start to finish. Pun intended. Highly recommend for all ages.

We actually saw a grey whale feeding, sea lions, some saw a few orcas, different varieties of jelly fish, and there were lots of birds. The Naturalist gave us great information about all the wildlife we saw. It was a fast 4 hour tour. I highly recommend it. If you are unsure because there is no guarantee to see the whales…just do it! You won’t regret it.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHALES. What a disappointment. This the second whale watching tour I have taken with frs clipper. I did one in June 2-3 years ago, and one today, July 22, 2026. Both times, we saw a fin or tail stick up out of the water and a little water squirt up from the surface from a huge distance. Frankly, you couldn't tell it from a whale or a person snorkeling or on a raft. The photos sent to us by frs clipper were fantastic, as there were using a very sophisticated long-range camera and zoom lens. Their equipment was so sophisticated it looked like they were filming a movie. Frs clipper has a 'guarantee' to see whales, or you get a voucher for another trip, so they were talking about this like it was definitely a whale, but you sure couldn't tell from the boat with the human eye. It was a nice boat ride, but $165.00 for a boat ride when it was essentially like taking a ferry? I guess there might have been a whale way off in the distance occasionally sticking up their tail and blowing water, but you sure couldn't tell what it was. After two trips a few years apart, different times of the summer, with zero whale sightings (that you could see from the boat without a telephoto zoom lens), II am done. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHALES.

I give it 4 stars because we saw something far in the water that was suppose to be a whale, but couldnt be sure. And the fact that there were no orca or close encounters with whales wad a bummer but not the operator's fault. But promising whale sighting guaranteed is literally BS. Anyway, they are welll organized, the boat is bad ass and the crew is professional and courteous. I'll recommend but when it comes to the other mammals, keep your expectations low...

Me and my daughter absolutely loved this whale watching trip. Everyone was so nice. They were very knowledgeable about the area and kept us apprised of where we were and where we were going. The snack bar guy was cool and let us know and assured us that most of the time we will see a whale. The hot dogs were good. We absolutely saw a umpback whale that breached and got to see it. They stopped and we viewed some stellar sea lions. Cindy our host was so nice and answered everyone's questions

We enjoyed being out on the water of the Puget sound. We saw a grey whale feeding along the coast, saw a few Harbour seals and two harbor porpoises. Did not get real close for the safety of the whale.

The new Emerald Clipper whale watching vessel is top tier. Floor to ceiling windows, with comfortable and spacious seating. It genuinely feels like a luxury experience. More importantly, they have incredibly knowledgeable and talented naturalists on board. Cindi, my naturalist for this trip, made it so much fun. Not only did she share helpful information about the orca we were seeing, she also gave the indigenous names of the landmarks and regions we were seeing throughout puget sound. As a local, I’ve been on plenty of whale watching trips and have a decent knowledge of the marine wildlife in our area, but I walked away from this experience having learned so much! Kennedy and Ray were working the galley and helped me end the trip with a very tasty Moscow Mule. Truly, start to finish this was a 5 star experience. Thank you Kennedy, Ray, and Cindi!
