We'd just landed and this tour was perfect. Perfectly timed and perfectly led by guide Paul. Was really interesting was of seeing Reykjavik and learning about Iceland.

Great Introduction to Reykjavik from a wonderful Viking guide

We had a fantastic tour with Stefan. It was our first day in Reykjavik, so we thought that a walking tour with a knowledgeable guide would be a good way to get oriented, and so it was. It turned out to be a private tour for just the four of us, and Stefan was informative and entertaining and shared Icelandic history, folklore, sights, and recommendations in Reykjavik for restaurants, bars, and activities. We ended up knowing a lot more about where we were staying, and were well set up for the rest of our stay. Highly recommended.

Fascinating Folklore tour

We had a wonderful walk through Reykjavik! Our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging, we learned quite a bit about the folklore and history of Reykjavik and Iceland. I would definitely recommend this!

A great experience

I went on this tour with my husband and we were very excited to learn about the Christmas traditions and culture. Our guide was great and was very informative in a fun way. We recommend this tour to any group coming! A plus was we enjoyed hot chocolate and treats.

This was such a fun and unique tour! Bjornvain was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, friendly and funny. I loved the little extras we got and learning all about the yule lads and other folklore. I'm glad I did this tour while in Reykjavik at Christmas time!

Gary et son équipe ont été incroyablement arrangeants. Malgré un retard de 1h30 sur notre vol, ils sont restés en contact regulier et ont tout fait pour que nous puissions profiter pleinement de cette excursion. Leur professionnalisme est remarquable, merci à eux ! L’expérience a été très agréable. Nous avons choisi un guide francophone en extra, et c’était une excellente décision. Esther E. nous a partagé sa passion pour son pays, sa culture et son histoire avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme, rendant ce moment unique. Côté food tour, nous avons passé un bon moment, même si nous nous attendions à une expérience culinaire un peu plus "audacieuse". Avec un peu plus de variété et quantité dans les plats, ce tour pourrait devenir carrément exceptionnel! Malgré tout, c’est une activité que nous recommandons sans hésiter, tant pour la qualité de l'organisation que pour les belles découvertes culturelles et humaines. Merci encore

wir haben uns maximal 600 m von unserem Ausgangspunkt herum bewegt, keine Tipps vom Guide zu Museen oder Kulturangeboten überhaupt, wenn ich bedenke, dass wir über 350 Euro für diese Tour (7 Personen) bezahlt haben, dann treibt das schon die Tränen in die Augen; dabei war die Verspätung des Tourguides um 45 Minuten nicht mal das Schlimmste. Im Gruntge eine Verschwendung von Geld ind Zeit....

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Esther E. We didn’t know what to expect given this was our first tour. We were greeted in a central location with 5 other attendees to the group. The distance from place to place was very short visiting about 4 different eateries and visited a local shop as part of the tour giving 10% off any purchase. Esther E provided some great historic knowledge throughout the evening making the 3 hours fly by. Food was good, history and story telling was so much more. I felt like I learned so much about Iceland and Reykjavik that evening. I was undecided about booking but so glad I did.

Must do for cat lovers!

This is a must do for any cat lover coming to Iceland! Our guide was so passionate about cats and had great stories to tell about not only the cats of the city, but other Icelandic traditions and history. Coming around Christmas time was great because we got to see the cat sculpture and hear the story of the Yule Lads. The tour was like a fun scavenger hunt around the city to find all the cats who live in the shops. While we didn’t see them all, it was so nice to meet some of them and to see the love the local people have for the cats in their city. The cat cafe was cute and cozy and has delicious drinks and pastries. This was one of the highlights of our trip!

Lovely way to see...

Lovely way to see Reykjavík’s downtown and sample Icelandic dishes! Our guide, Palli (sp??), was fantastic — super knowledgeable about the food, and had lots of great stories to tell in between dishes. Also lots of great advice about visiting. The dishes themselves were exciting and delicious (lamb tartar! Hearty stew! Delicious fish!)… plus a few adventurous ones (fermented shark, anyone? I just had to know what it tasted like…). They say to really get to know a culture, you have to try their food, and this tour was a wonderful way to do it. I did the 5pm slot and, having done a food tour before, didn’t eat ANYTHING other than a tiny pastry for breakfast. I was still STUFFED afterward… all the food was hearty and filling. So definitely come hungry. Highly recommend!

(Original) Wir (mein Freund und ich) hatten die Reykjavik-Foodlovers-Tour gebucht. Unser Tourguide war Ester. Mit ihr haben wir einen richtigen schönen Abend verbracht. Von der Abholung bis zur Verabschiedung war die Stimmung wirklich klasse, Ester hat uns viel über die Lokalitäten und Traditionen Islands erzählt und uns zu äußerst leckeren Restaurants geführt. In diesen konnten wir die lokale Küche genauer kennenlernen. Sie war wirklich sehr engagiert und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt :) Definitiv zu empfehlen!
