Product: Reykjavik: Sightseeing Walking Tour with a Viking
Great guide, and wonderful way to experience a bit of Icelandic food, including fermented shark (for the brave!).

Fun and informative
We had a great time on our beer tour with Svenbjorn, who showed us how to toast in Iceland and told us some interesting history of the country as well as of beer in Iceland and said if we wanted to sound like we were speaking Icelandic we could say (I think) "I forgot my yogurt." We enjoyed meeting the other people on the tour, who were from Louisiana and included a doctor and ATF agent.

Leisurely and enjoyable, with a guide that went above and beyond
Overall, this was a wonderful food tour! I’ve been on tours where everything felt rushed but this was the complete opposite. Our guide Guna was very patient as most of our group arrived late, but we had a wonderful slow start with delicious lobster soup. We enjoyed hearing about Iceland culinary and cultural tradition. We hopped around a few other sites worth visiting (hotdogs! Sweets!) and ended with a delicious and relaxing dinner and drinks. Guna went above and beyond beyond to accommodate our group, with thoughtful adjustments to the schedule and always checking in. My kids loved learning a few phrases in Icelandic with her. Overall we had a lovely time and I highly recommend this tour, specifically with our tour guide Guna!

Perfect walking tour in Reykjavic
The tour was excellent! Our guide Oli was very nice person, knowlegeable, and helpful. He walked us through the city of Reykjavic and showed lots of interesting and beautiful spots of this marvelous city. He was absolutely proficient in English and had even visited twice our country, Uruguay. I would highly recommed the tour to all people coming to Iceland!

I did a foodie walkabout with Stefan, a very funny guy. And I was the only single person there but was felt welcome with the others. Well worth the walkabout great food, company and Stefan was very knowledgeable, animated, they only had rowing boats lol and a down to earth guy. Give this ago your won’t be disappointed

Stefan I was a fantastic tour guide, he told us all of the local folklore tales as well as answering any questions we had, was only a small tour group so felt really personal and catered towards your interests. We were even lucky enough to see the northern lights during our tour in downtown Reykjavík. Thanks from Newcastle Upon Tyne

A Great Way to Immerse in Christmas in Iceland
Such a fun way to spend Christmas Day! The spots we hit to try holiday-type foods were fun and filled with many revelers! Pauli, our guide, was knowledgeable, funny and had great stories and lore. I personally could have done without the candy store and maybe enjoyed some other sweet treat, like a pastry. This tour would have garnered five stars, but Viator provided us with the wrong tour start time. As we were strolling to our meeting location, which our tickets said was 12:30, I received a very curt call from Your Friend in Reykjavik saying everyone was waiting for us. When I mentioned the tickets said 12:30 I was told this tour is NEVER at 12:30 and always begins at noon. So, we met the group at the end of their first stop. They left us some of the food though, so that was good. And no one seemed bothered. Lesson learned: check with your tour operator before you do something like this tour. Don't rely on your Viator tickets!

Great story telling
A captivating walk and a great one to keep older children/teens interested if they like fantasy and ghost stories. My son seems to have remembered all the anecdotes and my goodness is surprising a few people with stories which, out of context, seem wild. Great fun. When we return will definitely book another one.

The guide was 15 minutes...
The guide was 15 minutes late, and announced he was a back up guide because of a scheduling issue. He told us he wasn’t an architecture specialist which was really disappointing. He walked us around and gave us some folklore history which was interesting, but not the tour we wanted. He was constantly checking his watch to see how much longer he needed to stay with us. Very disappointing!

We had a fantastic time with Einar on our foodie walking tour. He was funny and educated us on the “Yule Lads.” We even bought a book about them. The food we experienced was very different from what we are used to and Einar explained everything in detail. Definitely do the Foodie Walking Tour!

This folklore walking tour was the perfect thing for my last day in Iceland. Our guide Einar was an amazing storyteller (and teacher of creepy spells). I learned so much about elves and trolls, but also Icelandic ghosts and other mythic creatures. It was cool to hear about how some traditions have changed over time and hear some songs about the legends. Use the bathroom before you go because there’s nowhere to stop along the way.

Product: The Reykjavik Christmas Food Tour
Shiesty business practice
Got to be really honest about this one...it was extremely disappointing. We booked based on the description that we'd get to see/tour the Christmas markets and have that experience. Aside from our guide being 15 mins late (which is an eternity when the temps are in the negative degrees), he began his introduction simply stating because it was NYE, the Christmas markets were all closed and pretty much everything in the description of the tour would not be happening, but he'd be doing his best to give us something. Though, we did like the guide, our question is this: if they knew the markets would be closed on the 31st and they couldn't offer the tour as described...why run the tour that day?!!? They didn't have to offer it. Or, they could also easily have just contacted us ahead of time, told us things would be different on the day we booked and offer us the opportunity to cancel. But, instead, they took our money, had us show up, and then told us we were never going to get what we actually paid for. Just shiesty business practice in our opinion and also the reason for our rating. I'd not book again with them based on this experience.
