Blend of history, culture, and folklore with a friendly guide and pleasant group size

My husband and I enjoyed how informative this tour was, with a really nice blend of history, culture and folklore. The group size was really manageable and friendly, and our guide was very knowledgeable and amicable. He even gave us some traditional ghost stories to take away. YFIR seem to really want to look after their guests at every opportunity. We will definitely look at using them again next time we go to Iceland.

Would Definitely Do This One Again

Wonderful tour that ran the gamut of local foods. Einar was a wealth of knowledge, throwing bits of Icelandic history as we went to the different restaurants. Very thankful for this tour as it took us to spots to eat foods we wouldn't have thought to try ourselves. Very proud to say we all tried the shark! Definitely give this tour a try if you're in Reykjavik.

A must-do for cat lovers! We met and petted famous local cat celebrities and learned a lot from our excellent and kind guide Einar about Icelandic legend involving cats. The cat café was especially lovely, would definitely recommend!

Such a fantastic way to start our visit in Iceland !!!! Our guide Stefan was so engaging and charismatic - super knowledgeable about the history of Iceland, the people and their relationships with the rest of the world. Great food, learned so much and had a wonderful time - 10/10 highly recommend.

Meeting with an Elf in the streets in Rejavick, under rain, wind and super cold ! in January.

It was really cold, windy and raining and i am the only one who showed up ! came and the guide ! He was really nice and I could ask all the questions i needed as a child would ask ! About the islandic culture, people, about Elves and Troll, about fishing and the fishermen etc etc.....thank you for this great sharing.... !

Great driver, might want to plan around weather.

Driver was friendly and accomodating, no complaints at all. However tour was on the light side because of weather and time of year (January). We got a good tour of the city and they were able to customize to see what we wanted. Would have been better if the weather was more agreeable, and because of weather seemed a bit pricey. That's out of their control of course. Was nicer in the warm van than the many walking tours we passed.

Very informative stroll and engaging, knowledgeable tour leader (Oli) - we really enjoyed it! Recommend Viator provide clearer instructions on tour meeting place - the direction link provided in Viator email guided us to wait inside the hotel plaza lobby versus outside at the pillars.

We enjoyed a fantastic food tour led by Oli! He was a great guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food stops were all wonderful too with a nice variety of things to try and surprisingly big portions! It was fun to hear some tidbits about various landmarks in our walks between stops too. Very glad we booked this tour!

Wonderful first-time experience in Reykjavik

Rinse was absolutely wonderful to spend the afternoon with. So charming and funny, knowledgeable about the city and the local kitties! We ended up on more of a "celebrity cat tour" instead of a tour of Reykjavík, but we didn't mind. I would absolutely recommend anyone try this if you like kitties and are interested in spending a few hours at local shops looking for them!
