The Reykjavik tour for cat lovers
A must for cat lovers. Meet the shop cats that are borderline celebrities, learn about cats in Icelandic stories, and have the best hot chocolate of your life while surrounded by cats in the Kattakaffihúsið cat cafe.

Icelandic specialties at a leisurely pace
Tour was relatively slow placed which gave time to get to know others in the tour, and to sample leisurely at each place. Not sure I’m ever going to fall in love with Icelandic food, but Einar was great at explaining the food we were eating, with Icelandic history and personal anecdotes sprinkled in throughout. An enjoyable tour with a fun group!

Fun experience
Our guide Stefan was excellent and made this a really fun tour where we learned about folklore and elves in Iceland. A nice way to spend the afternoon and all the group enjoyed it.

Tour was excellent. Our guide Einar was outstanding. His knowledge of the locality and food was great and sharing some of his family history gave a greater insight into the Icelandic way of life. The food also gave you the authentic taste of the island. Thoroughly recommend this tour to all.

Worth every penny!
My husband and I booked a private food tour. It was a nice stroll through a main part of town. Our tour guide, Magnus, was personable and kept you laughing throughout the tour. From tying in his family history, culture, and facts surrounding Icelands known delicacies, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Fascinating Cautionary Tales with Viking Stefan !!
We joined a walking tour with a Viking with me hoping for an insight into Icelandic life and the Mrs hoping for tall and well proportioned Scandinavian eye candy. We reported on time and met Stefan who was suitably Viking-esque with beard and a twinkle in his eye. There was another couple on our tour who had two young children in tow. Off we set around the streets of Reykjavik. I won’t explain all the sites but suffice to say it’s a lovely city to explore and without a shadow of a doubt you’ll see and hear stuff that you wouldn’t come across on your own. Stefan warmed to his audience and, with the two little ones present, he regaled his audience with a wide repertoire of fairly gruesome Icelandic children’s tales. They don’t have Father Christmas but rather Yule Lads and a child eating cat that does away with naughty children. Those not eaten by kitty are collected up in a sack and made into soup by the Yule Tide Lad’s fearsome mother. Our compatriots’ kids would need heavy duty counselling after this tour! The two hours passed really quickly. Stefan was enthusiastic, engaging and very proud of his country. He was great at signposting stuff we should see during our stay and the tour orientated us well to Reykjavik. After saying goodbye to Stefan we retraced our steps to purchase a couple of Icelandic hotdogs from the street stall where President Bill Clinton had tried this Icelandic delicacy … see, you don’t find that in Lonely Planet !!

Stefan, our tour guide, was so humorous and engaging to listen to. His knowledge of Icelandic food and the history of Iceland/Reykavik was excellent. The food we sampled was truly delicious and unusual, even the fermented shark was palatable with Stefan’s “way of eating it”! A wonderful tour for foodies, I 100% recommend it.

Really interesting tour and great variety of Icelandic food to sample (including the famous shark) with a bit of general Reykjavik walking tour thrown in. Ideal to do on first/second night of your visit as we had actually already sampled a couple of the stops - our fault for not checking the itinerary. Our guide was really passionate about Iceland and its culture

We were really looking forward to walking with a Viking! The guide was not! He did not know many answers to questions and when we got to the cathedral it was closed. We were not taken back to the starting point. Although the walk was interesting it was not like the authentic tour that was advertised. There was a short unauthentic story and no lessons in language.

My fiancé Jayne and I had a brilliant food tour with ‘big’ Pall on our final night in Reykjavík. Our guide was very knowledgeable, super friendly, engaging and a great character in his own right. We tried some great local food and learned lots about Icelandic life and culture. Would highly recommend this tour.

Nice way to acquaint yourself with the smoking bay
Stefan I. was our guide and was very knowledgeable about Icelandic lore. We were glad that he sang us an Icelandic lullaby, as we later saw a piano duo play it with new context.

Fun for young and old
Stefan I. was an engaging and knowledgeable guide. He knew all about trolls, elves and witches in Iceland and how they affect us. His singing and explanation of an Icelandic lullaby was helpful when we went to piano concert and they preformed a piece based on the tune and words of the lullaby. Thanks for information and entertainment.

A Perfect Taste of Icelandic Culture!
My partner and I had an amazing experience on this food tour! Magnus was incredibly informative, polite, and welcoming to everyone in the group. He answered all our questions and provided fascinating historical insights while also explaining each dish in detail. The food was absolutely delicious, and by the end, we were both completely stuffed! If you’re looking for a great way to experience Icelandic culture through its cuisine, I highly recommend this tour.
