Fantastic tour with Palli, we would happily have spent an entire day walking with him and learning fascinating things about the history and culture of both Reykjavik and Iceland. We loved trying traditional Icelandic delicacies and meeting local business people. 100% recommend this tour!! Takk fyrir Palli!! :)

The guide was excellent and did the best he could given the winter conditions. However, I wouldn’t host this tour or go when it is cold out with snow on the ground because a lot of the cats are hiding.

fand es cool von den Märchen zu hören, ich hätte gern bisschen mehr von der Entstehung und der Geschichte der saga gehört noch

We had an amazing walking food tour with Stefan in Reykjavik! The food was absolutely delicious — we even got to try the famous fermented shark! As one of the other guests said, Stefan truly exceeded expectations. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the whole experience so much fun. Highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Reykjavik!

The tour and guide was so good, I have health conditions which make me a little slower in pace but everyone was so patient and kind. Our guide shared so much information and stories, not only on the cats of Reykjavik but on history and traditions. The ca cafe was so lovey, calm, quiet and super relaxed with the cats. I’d definitely recommend this tour and the cafe.

Stephan was a fantastic food tour guide. He was VERY knowledgeable about Icelandic history, and his presentation skills were awesome - he really got "into character" a lot. Very entertaining. We had a great time, and experienced some wonderful food selections.

(Translated by Google) A very enjoyable trip where the guide, whose name I recall as Sigurbjörn, taught us Icelanders in a fun way about the history of Reykjavík and many other fun things. Definitely recommend :) (Original) Mjög skemmtileg ferð þar sem leiðsögumaðurinn sem mér minnir að heiti Sigurbjörn fræddi okkur Íslendingana á skemmtilegan hátt um sögu Reykjavíkur og margt fleira skemmtilegt. Mæli hiklaust með :)

I cannot recommend Your Friend in Reykjavik enough. We did 3 tours. First day was with Bol(sorry if I’m not spelling names correctly) and he took us around for the food tour. You can tell he was proud of where he is from and loved sharing information and facts. Even talked us into trying the fermented shark and of course the famous hot dogs. Next day was a longer day and private tour we did with Thor(again name spelling! Sorry). He was very prompt picking us up at our hotel, drove us to Esja and kept good conversation while driving out of town. We only made it about halfway up the mountain but he took us all over, gave us time to take it all in and really appreciate the beauty of Iceland. We had a beautiful sunny day. Thorufoss was stunning. Hvammsvik hot springs was amazing and having the different temperatures to chose from really makes it the best around. Finally we stopped for lamb soup at a lovely cafe/art installation at Hofudstodin. We met the owner and she was very passionate about her business and partnership with the artist. They had THE BEST happy marriage cake! Finally Thor gave good info on seeing the Northern lights and even sent us a photo from his yard later that evening. It was one of the best days I’ve ever had. Last but not least we went on the Folklore walk with Robin. She was so lovely and really taught us so much about the city and the folklore and history of the Icelandic cultures. She even took us in to meet Ofelia the cat. If you’re not sure about booking excursions, I highly recommend YFIR. You will not be disappointed.

We had two excellent tours with Your Friend in Reykjavik! The first was the Food Lover's Tour, with Palli. Palli was fantastic, a lot of fun, and full of information about Reykjavik, Iceland, and pretty much any other topic that came up. Every dish we tried was a winner, and the portions were generous for a food tour. Do not eat much before this tour, you will definitely get enough food, and if your guide is Palli you're going to have an excellent time. We also took the Folklore Tour later on with Robyn and loved that tour as well. It was a good mix of information on both folklore and Icelandic history and we learned a lot. We were the only people on that tour that day, so we had a very personal experience and Robyn was very easy to talk with and we had a great time. We were also joined by another guide who was learning the tour, and between he and Robyn, we also heard a lot about what it's like to live in Iceland today. This tour covered a lot of ground, walking the streets around Ingolfstorg and then up to the Rainbow Street. Finally, we had registered for a Northern Lights tour through YFIR, which was canceled because the aurora conditions were very unfavorable. (And they really were --- we wouldn't have seen anything that night.) The operator, East-West Tours, contacted us via email, text, and telephone to make sure we knew about the cancellation, which we appreciated. We had the option of rescheduling or requesting a refund. Due to timing, we had to request a refund and YFIR took care of it quickly and easily. Seeing the Northern Lights is always a gamble, and so we appreciate the care and flexibility EW and YFIR take to give you a good experience. I would definitely register for this tour again the future and try again!
