Reykjavík Food Tour

Entertaining and informative tour hosted by Paul, a retired fisherman. Sampled various traditional Icelandic foods including lagoustine soup, lamb stew, smoked salmon and goose and chocolate covered licorice in downtown Reykjavík. Tour lasted about three hours and was very enjoyable.

The tour was fabulous! Our guide, Einar, was knowledgeable & so much fun! The food was interesting & mostly delicious (fermented shark, after all)...way more in quantity than I could eat! The candy store & the shark tasting were both unique & surprisingly tasty! Einar explained how to best eat both the very salty licorice & the tiny bite of shark. Don't pass up the adventurous food...be brave! The shark ended with a really lovely clean fishy taste just before getting washed down by the shot of traditional liquor! So much fun!! Thank you Einar!

A unique and lovely experience!

All cat lovers need to go on this tour! It's also a fantastic way to explore the downtown area on one of your first days. You meet lots of cats, enjoy a delicious hot chocolate and meet some new friends. Highly recommend!

A fabulous evening and a must do tour in Reykyavik

A fabulous evening with our lovely guide Einar on a food tour of Reykyavik. Great restaurants and food choices including traditional lamb soup, gravelax on rye bread, a hot dog from a stall and fish stew. Einar was very friendly and hospitable and shared a lot of information about Icelandic art and culture with suggestions about where to go and what to do in Reykyavik. It was a very enjoyable evening and Einar sent us some lovely photographs. Highly recommended.

I had booked this tour because another company had cancelled. I’m so so glad it worked out this way since this tour was an incredible experience. I hadn’t realized it would be a private tour for just my wife and me. Anna the guide was wonderful! If I could give her ten stars, I would. Anna was knowledgeable about the food and Helsinki area we traveled through. She was an absolute delight to talk with; we felt we spent an afternoon with a close,personable, fun friend. I can’t rave enough about Anna’s skills as a tour guide!

This was our first food tour and we will now do many more. Oli our guide was incredible, so knowledgeable about Icelandic food and culture. He was very personable, friendly, and engaging; so much fun to talk with. The food choices were amazing and you will not go hungry. We really enjoyed this tour and I highly recommend it.

Icelandic Food and Tales - an Adventure

This tour was so fun! Our guide, who told us to call him 'Bo' (or was it Beau?) for short, not only introduced my group to interesting and authentic Icelandic food traditions, he peppered the tour with the folklore and stories. Loved it!

This was a perfect tour as we just arrived this morning. Thor was our guide and he was wonderful. He shared historic information about Iceland and Reykjavik, answered all our questions and took us to several sweet shops. Each one unique and each one very tasty. Every shop was friendly and made us feel welcome. We tasted pastries, candies, jams, Greek donuts and ice cream. Perfect way to begin our time in Reykjavik and again, Thor was friendly, kind, informative, knowledgeable and he included each one of us so it felt like a family. Thank you Thor.
