FIVE STARS!!! Daniel was a wonderful guide and a wealth of information! We appreciate his willingness to transport us to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands. We learned SO much history and enjoyed seeing the beautiful landscape and wildlife. This was a great experience, and we wish we could find a guide like Daniel everywhere. Thank you again!

We decided to take our first ever sightseeing vacation and chose South Dakota, we had never been there and wanted to see Mt Rushmore, the Black Hills, the Badlands and Deadwood; we also didn’t want to rent a car. We knew that neither of us wants to drive in the mountains! We typed our ideas into Grok (AI) and in 5 seconds our entire trip was planned, down to suggesting airlines, hotels and a car service The car service was going to be key because the wrong driver and this trip would be a disaster. AI actually selected My XO Adventures and I called to see their availability. Here’s is where you know it’s a meant to be, the owners were from Sarasota! Aimee Rothtock used to be a Realtor, we had mutual acquaintances and she had openings for our dates I mention this because they were AWESOME! Their personalities (her and her son, Daniel Milks) were a match and their knowledge was unbelievable. They showed us the sights and created one of best experiences ever. We felt like it personalized just for us. We highly recommend My XO Adventures❤️ If this trip is in your future, please give them a call!

I had wonderful golden hour tour of the Badlands with Dan. Dan is extremely knowledgeable about the area and an excellent photographer. It was a pleasure spending several hours with him learning more about the magical place of the Badlands and chasing the light! Most visitors and most tours visit the Badlands in the morning or the middle of the day but, XO adventures tours the Badlands at golden hour which means that you have a better chance of spotting wildlife and you really see the beauty of the landscape at its best. I can’t recommend Dan and XO adventures enough!

When I mentioned to my coworkers that my husband and I were going to South Dakota for vacation, they said why? Well they need to see South Dakota with My XO Adventures and they would understand. The best kept secret on this planet. We recently took a 3 day tour with My XO Adventures, and what we expected to be a simple getaway turned into an unforgettable adventure—thanks entirely to our tour guide, Logan. From the moment we met him, Logan brought an energy and passion that completely changed how we experienced the area. His deep knowledge of the land, culture, and history was impressive, but it was the way he shared that knowledge—with genuine excitement and care—that really stood out. We experienced 3 days of absolute awe from every site— Mt Rushmore, exploring the Black Hills, a starry night in the Badlands, Spearfish Canyon, Devils Tower, and so much more. But what truly made the difference was how personal the journey felt. Logan had a gift for knowing what we needed or wanted and tailored the experience so it never felt rushed or cookie-cutter. He pointed out things we would’ve easily missed, shared local legends and historical insights, and even took time to show us quiet spots where the beauty of South Dakota really sunk in. We came for the sights—but thanks to Logan, we left with a deeper appreciation for the land and its stories. If you're lucky enough to have him as your guide, prepare to see South Dakota through a whole new lens. Highly recommended!

Our tour with XO Adventures was absolutely fantastic! Daniel was so informative and interesting and made the trip so enjoyable. We would have never seen Mount Rushmore through a Driving tunnel if Daniel hadn’t shown us. We would’ve missed one of the highlights of the trip if we had gone on our own. I highly recommend this tour agency and would definitely do it again.

We’ve taken our first tour with XO Adventures and are very much looking forward to our next one. Our tour was called “ Badlands Sunset and Wildlife - Nature’s Evening Glow,” and the tour did not disappoint! Dan, our tour guide, was attentive throughout the evening selecting places to see, topics for conversation, and fun facts that would interest and entertain us. Besides being very knowledgeable about the history of the area and having a keen sense of locating wildlife, Dan is also a fabulous photographer. He subsequently shared with us some of the amazing photos he took on our journey. All in all, it was a perfect evening and I would recommend it to anyone who is lucky enough to visit the Badlands. ……….. It was another 5 star tour with XO Adventures (our second one) as we toured the northern area of the Black Hills through Spearfish Canyon and then out to Devils Tower. We enjoyed a relaxing and fun day, this time with Daniel, our tour guide, who took us off the beaten path to some of the most beautiful, interesting and quirky sites we would not have found on our own, as well as up close encounters with wildlife. And, as a special bonus, XO Adventures shares their photos taken on the tour with their customers, making for a memorable experience.

Daniel was absolutely amazing! We spent two days touring with him, and I only wish we had more time. Together we explored Devils Tower, Spearfish Canyon, Deadwood, Rushmore, and even experienced Badlands at sunset. Daniel was a wealth of knowledge about the area, wildlife, plants, and history, and he made us feel completely relaxed and at ease the entire time. We were traveling with another family and had three boys ages 10 to 12. They loved asking Daniel and Logan, another guide who joined us one day, endless questions, and both guides kept the kids and adults fully engaged. South Dakota was our last stop after a big family trip through Glacier, Portland, Vancouver, and Jackson with time in the Tetons and Yellowstone. The bar was set high but Daniel made our time in SD unforgettable. He has us wanting to come back tomorrow. The area was beautiful, the time with him was so well spent, and Badlands at sunset followed by stargazing will forever be a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Daniel!

Our guide, Logan, was one of the best tour specialists we have ever had. We enjoyed his knowledge of animals, Native American history as well as General Custer’s role in the American Indian war. You could sense his love for the Black Hills too. This was an relaxing tour and would do it again.

We worked with My XO Adventures to plan a trip into the Badlands to take in the park during daylight, the golden hour and the night sky. Our guide, Dan, did a fantastic job of introducing us to this unique and amazing environment. He was patient, informative and insightful and got us into position to take some amazing pictures of the sunset and moon rise. All told, an incredible experience. Highly recommended!

We had three tours with XO adventures. We did golden hour Badlands tour, Devils Tower and Spearfish and the Mt. Rushmore/Crazy Horse/central and southern Black Hills. All were exceptional. The two guides we had, retired Dan and Logan knew all the history, where to stop, and when to go for maximum viewing of animals and nature. They both had great camera’s to take pictures. The trips were relaxing and exciting. I recommend this company and our guides for a private tour. You will not be disappointed.

If you're reading through reviews to help you select a tour agency, look no further! Stop pondering and book your tour with My XO Adventures! We did, and we couldn't be happier! Everything about My XO Adventures was exceptional! The very first phone conversation with Amiee left us feeling like we were talking with a long-time friend. Amiee was so kind and genuinely listened to our needs and what kind of adventure we were hoping to have. The tour suggested for us, the Black Hills Parks, Monuments and Mount Rushmore Tour, was perfect and My XO Adventures made this tour possible for us by accommodating having our Golden Retriever with us. The process of booking our tour was handled efficiently and any questions that we had were promptly and thoroughly addressed. On the day before our tour, Amiee called to confirm the details for the next day and let us know that our guide would be Logan. Oh, what a gem Logan turned out to be! Logan arrived promptly to pick us up in the early morning and we began our day in an extremely comfortable SUV. In a matter of minutes, we once again felt that we'd met another longtime friend in Logan. Throughout the day, we were amazed by the stories, history, and information that Logan had to share with us. His love of nature, depth of knowledge of the area and its wildlife, and desire to share what he knew with us was endless. At each stop that we made, Logan gave us an overview of what was available for us to see and do and as well as his tips for having the best experience at each stop. To our surprise, at the stops that did not allow pets, Logan even took our Golden for a walk so my husband and I could enjoy the sights together! Additionally, throughout our day, Logan took professional quality photos of the sights and our family. How nice it is to have family photos without one person missing (behind the camera). Logan truly went above and beyond to make our day a perfect adventure! Soon after saying good-bye to Logan at end of our day of adventure, Logan shared the link to all of the photos that he'd taken for us throughout the day! As we reviewed them with amazement of the wonderful day we had, we found yet another surprise, courtesy of Logan- pictures of our Golden at the sights while she was in Logan's care! What an unexpected, yet very much appreciated gift to us! Our entire experience with the amazing people at My XO Adventures has given us so much information and such happy memories that we will cherish for a lifetime! We had a nice experience with XO Adventures on our trip to the Badlands in South Dakota. Our guide, Retired Dan was incredibly knowledgeable about the area’s history and natural features, and he did a great job engaging our college-aged kids throughout the tour. One of the highlights was how he brought his own camera gear to help us get great shots of the local wildlife—something we really appreciated. He also knew all the best spots for breathtaking photos, which made the experience even more memorable. If I had one suggestion, it would be to consider offering family discount rates, which could make this amazing experience even more accessible. That said, we’re truly grateful for the personalized and enriching adventure. Highly recommend!

Rush, rush, rush to book a tour through XO and ask for Logan! Three of us went on a private tour to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, and the Needle Highway, and it was the best experience! We were throwing out questions left and right, and Logan handled every one. He referenced several books he read and gave very interesting, educational, and diplomatic responses. This was truly one of the best tours we’ve ever been on.

Had a great time with My XO Adventures. Our guide Logan suggested an early start which paid dividends. Early to Devil’s tower. What an amazing tour. Logan’s knowledge was great as we saw beautiful scenery and wildlife. Hard to pick a highlight when we also visit Spearfish Canyon, the town of a Lead and Deadwood. Recommend this tour for those who want a special and memorable time.
