My wife and I visited Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary on a recent trip to Brisbane and had an amazing day! We decided to spring for the Platinum Tour to make the absolute most of our day. Feeding the kangaroos, meeting the dingos, the python, and of course, our koala experience made visiting Lone Pine an absolute joy. We did even more with our time at Lone Pine including some shows with the animals there and getting to just walk around and see some of the wildlife at the sanctuary, and start to finish, our visit was so much fun! Our guide, Nadia, was probably the best part of our visit though. My wife and I were fresh off of a nearly 14-hour flight when we got to Lone Pine, and Nadia was so fun and enthusiastic, she made it easy to not just enjoy our day, but feel energized throughout!

Lovely sanctuary, entries are not very expensive for students and the sanctuary is pretty big, lots of things to see !! Food is available on site and it is possible to feed the kangaroos! 10/10 would recommend :)

The koalas and kangaroos are a particular highlight – you can get incredibly close to them. The grounds are very well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Great day out with the Koala's!
Clean and a great experience. Having some friends from overseas it was a good little spot to bring those who aren't prevalent to koala's for an experience.

No more compelling reasons to visit
It was a 5-star attraction when I visited it many times 10 or more years ago. However, there are no more compelling reasons to visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Even though it had become much more expensive, • Visitors could no longer hold and cuddle koalas. Photo taking with koalas had become much more expensive and they no longer provide photos. • Koala talk had no screen. • Sheep show cut short, 1 sheep dog instead of 2. Sheep no longer guided by sheep dogs to jump off ramp. No more whistling to command the dogs to guide the sheep. Instead, staff walked beside sheep instead. Is this the way to control sheep? • No sheep shearing after sheep show. • At the barn, there were empty enclosures and a few enclosures were removed. No more feeding of lambs. • No more feeding sheep and goats next to barn.

A bit expensive, and for the animal experience you have to pay a lot of extra money to interact with the animals. And the experience with them is very short. I still liked the experienced and love interacting with the kangaroos (for free).

I’ve stroked a koala in Australia!!! Seeing kangaroos and koalas have been ticked off the bucket list. Loved this experience. There was a lot more animals than I was expecting! Lovely day out in the sun. All the animals are well taken care of. It’s a little pricey at £30 but worth it! We paid extra to do the ‘Koala moment’ where you get to stroke a koala and have pictures. Slightly disappointed you can’t hold a koala here. You can feed the kangaroos for 2 dollars which is so cheap.
