(Translated by Google) We came in early April on a sunny day with temperatures reaching 32 degrees, so it is very hot. The raptor show and sheep herding show were fun. The children especially enjoyed being able to see eagles nearby after the show. Make sure to bring water or drinks. Water was very expensive. (For reference, 600ml of water costs 6 Australian dollars.) The koalas are scattered all over the place, making them easy to spot, but they are all taking naps. I recommend taking a one-way cruise from Brisbane Central, as it drops you off right at the zoo entrance, making it a convenient way to get here.

Very busy on a public holiday and not really built to cope with the numbers in some places, it quietened down in the afternoon though. The koalas were incredibly cute and well taken care of and it was great to be able to see two platypuses! Whilst Lone Pine is a bit cheaper and more local to those of us living in Brisbane, for a bit more I would rather have gone to Australia Zoo for a full day out, where lots of the close up encounters are included in the price, and the shows are significantly better in quality. I was quite disappointed in the free flight bird show compared to other zoos/sanctuaries. There were only 3 birds brought out (only 2 of which could fly) which people had waited a long time for. Definitely going to make the longer trip to Aus Zoo next time

If you want to experience the peak of Australian hospitality, head straight to Lone Pine. The vibe here is 100% "eucalyptus-scented zen," and frankly, I’m considering moving into the kangaroo paddock permanently. The highlight of the day was meeting Noddy the koala. Touching Noddy was like petting a very soft, very sleepy cloud that has clearly given up on the rat race. He’s a total professional—just sat there looking iconic while I had a genuine celebrity-encounter moment. Then we headed into the kangaroo area, which is essentially a massive lounge room for marsupials who have mastered the art of the afternoon nap. I managed to charm a kangaroo into some attention, but the real surprise was the emu. I was prepared for a Jurassic Park-style standoff, but this emu was remarkably tame. It’s a bit surreal to be eyeball-to-eyeball with a modern-day dinosaur and realize they’re actually quite lovely once you get past the "I could outrun a car" energy. Being a fan of the more misunderstood locals, I also had to check out the Coastal Taipan. There is something incredibly impressive about seeing the world’s deadliest noodle behind very thick glass. It’s sleek, it’s lethal, and it’s much better at social distancing than most people I know. After all the animal-induced excitement, we hit the onsite eatery. I wasn't expecting much beyond the usual theme-park fried mysteries, but the Poke bowl was a total revelation. It was fresh, vibrant, and exactly what I needed to refuel. It’s a bold move serving something that healthy and delicious in a sanctuary, but it absolutely worked. Between the platypus hiding in the shadows, the dingoes looking suspiciously like they want a belly rub (do not attempt), and the sheer joy of the koala encounters, Lone Pine is a massive win. It’s the perfect way to spend a day!

Good experience. Plenty of things to look at. You can go close up to kangaroos and even feed them. Best to buy tickets online as there might be some discounts..

Lovely day out for family

Had a lovely day out with the family. Our nieces son really enjoyed feeing the kangaroos and seeing the farm animals It was also great to be able to feed the cockatiels and, later on, the sheep. William really enjoyed meeting the farm animals as well. It was good to see the koalas, flying foxes, reptiles, crocodiles……etc It was interesting to listen in on the crocodile talk and see the raptor display. Very enjoyable day out and will definitely come again. Was last here 25 years ago!
