The best zoo I've ever been to. Seriously, we spent four hours exploring the Houston Zoo and enjoyed every moment. The aquarium section was a stand-out for sure.

Disappointed with Late Entry Policy at Houston Zoo Our family from Colombia came to Houston and we visited the Houston Zoo around 3–4 p.m., hoping to enjoy the cooler part of the day, especially given the intense Texas heat. While the zoo sells tickets for these late entry times (at regular price), what they don’t clearly disclose is that the entire park closes promptly at 5 p.m. — regardless of when you arrive. By the time we made our way through, many animals were no longer visible or active, and we were literally asked to leave while still inside the reptile house, which was our last stop on the way out. The experience felt rushed, disappointing, and poorly communicated. It felt like the zoo takes advantage of late visitors without offering a fair experience, a fair price or warning!
