They make a big deal in the Galapagos Islands exhibit on how much plastic they save, yet you are not allowed to get a frozen drink unless it is in a souvenir super plastic cup. I even offered to pay the full $12 for one of the drinks if they put it in a paper cup… but no, that’s not allowed. Mostly because the plastic cup encourages other to buy one and because the amount of icee in the “tall” plastic cup in only about 1/3-1/2 a regular cup, lol. Aside from that, the zoo is clean and the animals well cared for ❤️

Not sure why the cost to go to zoo is 50$ per. They haven't really updated anything but some boutiques with sellers of products in sure they pay rent. Even if you get aid it's still higher than a movie ticket oh ya you can go on Tuesday. No cooling stations items over priced as expected but seriously.

We love the zoo and we went yesterday and was super disappointed. There use to be a splashpad in the children's area and they took it out. Huge mistake when its 95 or hotter outside in Texas. Then there use to be area they had a mister on to cool off thru out the park and they dont have those anymore. Always construction going on there. And alot of animals weren't even in there habitas. Was super sad to see how much money they have you spend to enter to take kids and they couldn't even cool off in the heat. We also did go when they opened. Not sure ill go back after this.
