It's ok. You notice the differences between free day and paid days. On paid days the animals are there (most times) and on free day everything's out for cleaning. Even on paid days it's just ok but the park makes up for it.

The zoo is always clean and helpful people. I wouldn’t recommend the zoo during summer, it’s really hot, not much shade and the a lot of the animals were not out. Plenty of parking but definitely leave some time as the lots get full at peak times. I bought a membership as if you go a couple times in the year it pays for itself. The fall and Christmas events are great!

Went during the Jurassic giants exhibit and it was awesome! Love going to the Houston zoo and have since I was little

We enjoyed it better than the San Antonio Zoo! We went early morning and the majority of the animals were eating or being active because it was still cool enough.
