So we love the zoo, is pretty fun and they have updated alot of the animal sanctuaries. The new restaurant was not all that. The selections were limited and the prices are too high. Oh and it was sooo hot ,but the guy selling snow cones outside the zoo and the chicharrones with valentina were my life savers.

We had such a fantastic time at the Houston Zoo! Drove in from El Paso, and my husband even flew in from the Netherlands — and let me tell you, it was so worth it! The zoo exceeded all our expectations: super clean, very well organized, and the staff was absolutely on point. Special shoutout to the young guy by the cheetah exhibit — he was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain their habitat. You could really tell he loves what he does, which made the experience even more special. Even though it was extremely hot that day, we found plenty of ways to cool off. The café inside had strong AC and decent food — a bit pricey and with limited options, but the friendly staff made up for it. Huge bonus: the bathrooms around the zoo are air-conditioned too! We used them for quick breaks to cool down before continuing our adventure. 😂👏🏼 Don’t skip the gift shop — we found some great souvenirs to remember the day. Already recommending this place to our friends. Houston Zoo, you did not disappoint! ❤️🫶🏻
