The sky was gloomy but the animals were out enjoying their siesta. We were a group of 8 and toured the entire zoo in 3 hours. Fortunately the rain came after we left.

Animals seem happy, not sad. They also interact with people, especially if they're safe. I just love seeing so many animals here.

The enclosures are small with barely any real room. The food prices are excessive. Bottle of water 6 dollars? But, hey it's really all we got and the memberships are affordable. It's a shame that Houston doesn't have something that rivals San Diego or St Louis Zoos. All in all, if you get the membership, it's worth it to visit worth a month. 🤷🏽

Visit on weekdays if possible and be ready to walk alot...food is kinda expensive...bring your own food...go on free Tuesday admission on every 1st Tuesday of the month

Well spent admission of $31. Came here on a cold day by was not disappointed. We’ve been to many zoos and seen penguins. Surprisingly penguins this zoo does not smell at all.

I have loved going to the Houston Zoo since I was a child. Now that I'm a senior citizen I can no longer afford to go anymore. My last visit was during the summer. I enjoyed it but the prices are just too expensive especially when I took 3 of my great grandkids. But it's a wonderful place just not affordable anymore for some.
