Buy tickets online. Parking what you'd expect in Houston but not overly bad. Animals seemed well cared for and easy to navigate the zoo. About average as zoos go.

View @ Houston Zoo. . The Humboldt Penguins dive elegantly. Rather noisy when calling to each other, volume and pitch similar to donkeys. . The large Galápagos Tortoise is nature's gardener, spreading seeds via pooping. Was amused to see a fellow moving particular quickly during feeding. . Greeting visitors with playful antics and UwU faces, the California Sea Lions are frisky and friendly and fun. . The colony of Chilean Flamingos were rather derpy, flocking from one side to the other in jerky movements. They seem to follow the crowd without actually knowing why. . The large Cape Vultures cast beady eyes around their enclosure, flocking to their meal and fighting to defend scraps. . Within the same pen, the smaller Hooded Vultures watch silently from their perch, the scruffy-looking birds biding their time. . The African Spoonbill was feeding when we visited, wading in the shallow water to fish. Thought they looked cute. . The iconic bird of freedom, the Bald Eagles here are uniquely domesticated due to being imjured in the past (they've since recovered), though they now choose to live here instead of flying away. . The Whooping Crane is named for the signature sound of its calls. One of them was attempting to sleep while balancing on one leg. . The flightless Greater Rhea was foraging when we came by, and afterwards retired to rest in the shade. They tend to run in zig zag patterns. . Chuffed to see the friendly Capybaras. These large adorable rodents were snoozing in the sun, though several curiously watched the excited visitors around their moat. . The Black Bears were hiding though, so didn't see them. . Managed to catch the fast Cheetahs awake and watchful, and it even posed for us. . The Plains Zebra was lazily trotting around its pen, while the massive Ankole Cattle was swatting flies with its tail. . Feeding the Masai Giraffes is a popular activity with families. The giraffes are very friendly, and there's also Ostrichs here. . The Elephants were tromping around the perimeter of their pen, stopping to observe visitors.

(Translated by Google) A delightful outing with the family. The place is clean, well-signposted, the animals are well cared for; we spent 6 hours seeing all the animals. It's worth talking to the caretakers; they know everything about each animal, giving the experience a good sense of familiarity. (Original) Passeio delivioso com a familia. The Houston Zoo is absolutely amazing! My kiddos absolutely love it, and we always have such a wonderful time every visit. The new areas are incredibly immersive and engaging, making the experience even more special. From the beautiful exhibits to the educational opportunities, it's clear how much effort and care the staff put into everything. We love supporting the zoo and all the incredible work they do for wildlife conservation. It’s a perfect family outing, and we can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!

Definitely had to stop by and visit Kirby!!! He is such a cute little elephant and does everything his own way. Happy I got to see him. Also happy I got to visit the Houston Zoo. Definitely a cool zoo. Lots of close ups with the animals and they do good with the animals and helping out within nature and the wild. Good food options and good gift shops. Definitely a nice experience and worth the spending the day here
