(Translated by Google) The Houston Zoo isn't the largest, but it's certainly one of the most important and relevant in the region. Founded over 100 years ago, it receives around two million visitors annually, making it a must-see if you're traveling with children. Little ones will especially enjoy the elephants, the gorillas, and the new Galapagos Islands section, which offers a fascinating and educational experience. More than just a zoo, it has transformed into a center for conservation and awareness, helping to protect species and educate the public about the importance of biodiversity. A must-visit for animal and nature lovers.

(Translated by Google) Great zoo, absolutely beautiful here. There are many visitors, but they are well distributed due to the size of the zoo. (Original) toller Zoo mega schön hier es gibt viele Besucher aber die verteilen sich aufgrund der Größe vom Zoo sehr gut

Too expensive for tickets, food, and merchandise to entertain primarily children. Employees were rude and parking was atrocious. Loved the animals that were out but not worth that kind of money.

Gigantic zoo that you could spend a good 4 hours exploring if you wanted to see all the exhibits. The zoo goes in a circle with exhibits left and right. Each animal section has its own indoor showcasing on many of them so it’s like a world of its own. There are many restaurants, restrooms, rest areas, and food stands littered around the zoo. Water foundations are available and they’re not disgusting. There are signs with what type of animal you’re looking at and they even have a little about me which each one along with their names. Plenty of cool spaces if it’s hot. Many animal show castings are in the morning at various hours so if you want to attend them, come before 12pm. A few castings are after 12. The zoo is clean. The only smelly area we were in were the rhinos (which say a lot because usually a lot of the animals would smell because of their dung. The fact that they don’t means cleanings are frequent). Definitely a top zoo in Texas. Parking is also free if you can find one in the parking lot nearby. If not, there are parking garages and some street parking for a price. There are other free parking spots along Hermann park if you can find it. I recommend buying tickets in advance as it will save you a few bucks. They do dynamic pricing so on certain days that are expected to be busy, prices will be higher. However if you buy on the spot (you have to buy online thru a QR code.. it takes you to the same booking website that you find online. they don’t do tickets at a booth anymore) it will be higher priced than if you looked at booking a few days ahead.
