We had a very pleasant time! The zoo is well landscaped with lots of shade so it was relaxing. All of the animals look to be well cared for. There is a large variety of animals, so there was something for everyone to see. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

No zoo is going to be perfect and not all animals will be out to do “meet n greets” but as far as a selection goes, the Houston Zoo has plenty to offer. I love taking my child when we get the opportunity but downfalls would be the overpriced food/drinks inside the zoo. However, you can bring in your own food and drinks. 4/5 for sure or Mby a 3 if you’re out in the middle of Texas heat lol

Love the zoo so much. Camps are also excellent. Parking can be really challenging.

The Houston Zoo is a beautiful and well-kept place to visit any time of year. There’s a great variety of animals, shaded walking paths, and plenty of spots to relax or grab a snack. It’s especially perfect for families and nature lovers. Just a heads-up for winter visits — some animals may not be out due to the cold, so you might miss a few exhibits. Still, there’s always plenty to see and enjoy. We’ve been in different seasons and always have a great time! Highly recommend for a fun and educational day out in Houston.
