The only thing I saw under maintenance was the lake in the middle with chairs around it for resting. Otherwise, everything was open, which is unusual since something is always closed. To fully enjoy the zoo in the summer, you should be prepared with plenty of water. You'll be there for about four to five hours of walking if you're with children between 0 and 7 years old, including breaks for rest or food. Bring strollers or carriers because they'll get tired of walking. Everything is impeccably organized and beautiful. I highly recommend visiting this attraction. (Original) Visite el zoologico de Houston el 21 de Julio del 2025 y lo he visitado unas 7 veces en 6 años y puedo decir que justi en este momento es el mejor momento para visitarlo, ya que casi todas las secciones es estan abiertas, lo unico que vi en mantenimiento fue ese lago que esta en la mitad y que alrededor hay sillas para descansar, de resto TODO abierto, lo cual no es habitual ya que siempre esta cerrado algo, para disfrutar de todo el zoo en el verano debes ir preparado con suficiente agua, estabas alli por unas 4 a 5 horas caminando si vas con ninos entre 0 y 7 años y contado las paradas a descansar o comer, lleva coches o cargadores porque se van a cansar de caminar, todo esta organizado impecable y bonito. Recomiendo visitar esta atraccion 100%.

I hadn't been to the zoo in over 6 years. I came back very happy with how beautiful it is and all the renovations they've done. The only thing I didn't like was the price of a large pizza, $60. 😐
