Took my granddaughter's there for one of their birthdays, IMHO, there's very little interest for a 4 year old - seemed very disjointed overall, especially since there is construction taking place in the zoo.

My family and I just recently went to the Houston zoo and it's so unfortunate but the zoo is not what it used to be all the animals were put up the zoo is under construction so it's very chaotic and it has become very expensive just to see nothing you're basically there baking in the sun walking around looking at nothing but maybe a few animals I don't know who is in charge of the Houston zoo but they have a long ways to go before I ever return back there again with my family.

They are doing a lot of upgrades which is a plus in my opinion. There is plenty to do for everyone. Food is a bit up there in price for what you get, but it's at three zoo so it's to be expected. The animals were lively and the shade to sum ratio wasn't bad. Great day overall

The Galapagos exhibit was such a cool experience!! It’s nice that they allow you to bring in a lunchbox, I saved a lot of money bringing some snacks and a reusable water bottle. I arrived right at opening, and the parking lot was already filling fast, so I’d suggest getting there early
