When you have kids, membership becomes necessary. Definitively not a big zoo compared to others that we visited before, but the size of the Houston Zoo is just perfect for us. The variety of the animal accommodations is amazing. Our little one is particularly into their reptile building, where you find rich collection of snakes (yeah weird I understand).

Great experience for the whole family. Lots of fun animal exhibits. The entire collection of exhibits can be viewed walking slow within 3 hours if it’s not especially crowded.

Great zoo for the Houston area. However, the price point is not a great representation of what the zoo has to offer. Constant construction makes some areas not as visually appealing. Maneuvering through the construction is somewhat a deterring task trying to find some animal attractions.
