They are only getting 4 stars because they just let people park in the drop off/pick up area in front of the entrance. I sat for 15 or 20 minutes waiting for the line to move, and it didn't. My son had to wheel his Nana over to my car so we could go. After 5 hours in Houston heat and humidity, that about made him sick. Y'all don't need to be like TSA, but maybe institute a 5 or 10 min loading zone. We could barely squeeze out to the main road because of the huge SUV and construction cones. On the positive note, the zoo had many upgrades and new features. It is beautiful inside, and the animals look amazing. It was so much nicer than the last time I was there 25 yrs ago! I will visit again soon.

The zoo had been there since 1920's it's always a cool place to be. Got the chance to stay the night there when I was in boy scouts.

Water bottles should not cost $6 The rest was good and some of the zoo staff were very helpful!

Flat ground, which is better than San Diego. Better maintenance, beats San Antonio. Would go again.
