Wildlife galore!
Beautiful day for this bucket list experience. We saw 2 humpback whales, sea lions, harbor seals, and a couple of porpoises. I’m so glad we did it!

Nice to be out on the water
The boat was a comfortable size for the amount of travelers- plenty of room for everyone to either have a seat, stand at the rails, be inside or outside. We chose to stay outside the entire time, even though it was a bit windy and chilly. The Staff was very friendly, especially the concessions crew! As far as seeing whales, it wasn’t a great day. We DID see some whales, but it was really just their backs- no real breaching or excitement. The tour operator cannot control this, obviously, so it is what it is. The crew did take us out to see some sea lions sunning, and we got to see a sea lion jump up from the water to the fixture they were laying on, so that was fun;)

Great
Saw a pod of orcas, a humpback and many sea lions. The crew was wonderful and great with our kids; they especially thought the portion of whale baleen was cool to see.

Planning is key
Would recommend staying 2 days in Victoria or definitely plan your day trip to get the most. We planned on visiting the castle and it was closed, so definitely check schedules for availability prior.

Whales
Staff was great. We had some rough waters but they were great about trying to keep us out of it. They let us know before we left it would be a longer than usual day because the whales were out farther than usual. Our naturalist was very informative and answered all questions. I would definitely use them again. They do have a parking lot they validate, call ahead to Elgin’s out which lot.

Whales aren’t guaranteed but we got a nice humpback and some minor mammals of the sea. Good seating. A bit crowded on deck when there was a sighting.

Can't get clise enough to...
Can't get clise enough to take own pics they sell a usb of pics they take for 30. Can't hear or understand the narrator. Dissappointed.

Great service
Very clean & the staff was very organized, friendly, & helpful. Shout out to one of the staff named Hank. He was busy taking care of the passengers the entire trip both ways. Incredible dedication and work ethic. The food choices on board were good also. Great option especially for the early morning trip.

Fast, Efficient travel to Victoria
The ferry is a fast, efficient way to get from Seattle to Victoria. Check-in took less than 2 minutes, then sat in the waiting room until time to board. Boarding was quick, easy to find your seat. The staff was great. The attendants will take your order and bring food/drinks right to your seat. Seats were very comfortable. Had a tray to set my book on, plenty of room to store my backpack next to me. I was able to relax and enjoy the ride. The views were fantastic. The ride was smooth and seemed like we were in Victoria in no time. Short walk from the pier into town.

An Easy Transition Between Countries.
We traveled from Victoria to Seattle on the Victoria Clipper. Service was excellent and though they warned of turbulent seas it was a smooth ride. We saw several pods of whales during our journey. They have a galley/bar on board so one can drink and eat the whole way. Very nice way to travel.

Wow ! Humpback whales all around us !
An amazing day. First time out whale watching but knew from experience shared that it can be quite frustrating and a bit of a hit and miss. We had to venture a bit further than normal, but luckily the current was in our favor. We were so, so lucky to find ourselves surrounded by nearly 20 humpback whales including at least one female and her calf. Great team, from captain to the naturalist on board who provided a wealth of information. Comfortable seats with table and also plenty of written literature on board from adult to kids to help pass the time as we sailed out in search of whales. Highly recommend FRS Clipper.

Booked two tickets...
Booked two tickets through Viator. When we arrived at the ferry location we were told they cancelled our reservations the prior day, despite showing our confirmation and bar code. We received no prior notification of our cancellation from the operator or Viator.

The crew did an awesome...
The crew did an awesome job finding whales and stay with the whales for plenty of time. Binoculars would be great to see up close.

An enjoyable sail
The boat was comfortable and clean. Staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the information from the naturalist onboard. We were fortunate to see a pod of orcas and a humpback on a beautiful clear day. However, the views of the Sound would be reason enough for a cruise. (Plus the food was pretty good!)

Fun, informative, and relaxing
We had a beautiful day with a long ride and great views of the mountains and other landmarks around the sound, capped off with some exciting wildlife encounters. The Naturalist, Allison, was engaging and educational and provided a lot of color on the history of the area in addition to some great wildlife and ecology. The boat was great and comfortable and it made for a very relaxing day.

Do It
Enjoyable time and amazing seeing a Humpback whale breaching and “waving”. I would definitely go again if ever back in Seattle.

The Clipper…the best way to get to/from Victoria
Really the best way to travel from Seattle to Victoria. Smooth sailing. Boat was less than 1/2 full which was sad but the staff was excellent. Everyone so friendly and accommodating to passengers that needed it.

The best way to travel from Victoria to Seattle
Very efficient boarding. We checked our luggage because we had too much to keep up with. No problems with that. Food was decent and reasonably priced. You can bring your own, but we could not carry one more thing:) We had to stay on main level due to a member of our party being a wheelchair user. I’m sure the views were much better up top, but the views on the main level on the sides were good. No complaints.
