One-Way Passenger Ferry Between Victoria BC & Seattle WA
Fast check in process, helpful staff, and a nice ferry
edit I was finally able to get in touch with the office and they kindly resolved the issue The ride itself to Victoria was fine but customer service is dismal. Upon arrival in Victoria I discovered that the baggage handlers had damaged my bike derailleur. I filled out the damage claim through Clipper Vacations on the spot and was told the manager would reach out to me, and I was left to figure out the repair on my own. It’s now been more than 3 months and no one has reached out to me, AND my emails through the “Contact Us” form on their website have gone unanswered for more than a month. I would not trust them again with my bike and will avoid for future trips.

Clipper was a really fun experience. We booked the Comfort VIP option and received great service throughout the trip. To make it even better, I do wish they played a little background music—it was a bit too quiet at times. I’d also recommend choosing a left/port side seat if you want the best views (row A). Sitting in the front gives you mostly ocean views, while the side offers a lot more scenery to look at during the ride. Lastly, I wish the windows had been cleaned a bit more to improve visibility, but it really wasn’t a major issue. Overall, we had a great time!

BC Ferries from Horshoe Bay Vancouver to Departure Bay Nanaimo gets a zero stars
I was shocked when my husband who was working in Vancouver the last day and half called to say that his reservation he had for the Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo Departure Bay BC ferry this afternoon about 3pm, was cancelled after he waited for over two hours at the abundantly full parking lot of Horshoe Bay, BC. I was even more shocked to find that they let all the following reservations on the boat this evening. My husband had to fly across Vancouver with the rest of the cancelations and others who simply wanted to get to Nanaimo to get to Twassen for the Duke Point ferry which was fast filling up for reservations. I am appalled at the lact of orgnanization they have for a mechanical break down, and how they can't simply say to the last reservations of the night they need to get a hotel at the ferry's cost. If we had some other options for car loading ferries I have to wonder if they would care so little for their patrons.

The crew is some of the nicest and down to earth people I’ve met. It’s definitely on the pricey side but I’d say is so worth the money.

The clipper is nice. It's a quick, relatively quiet, reliable trip to Victoria. Price is ok, good for what you get. I'm not a fan of up-priced upgrades ..$40 each for upper deck. Lower deck is fine, but the wife likes "fancy". The value is good compared to all the driving, waiting and expense of the Tsawwassan ferry ...but that is a great ferry ride if you do go that route. Each time I arrive (3 times on the Clipper in 10 years) I see sea planes that remind me that we could use Kenmore Air out of Seattle for just a few more bucks and get the experience of a seaplane. Anyway, the review is for the clipper....they do a great job. Great staff, etc. We did see a few orca fins, but 300+ yards away as we buzzed on at 30 knots. But that add a thrilling experience you can only get from the water. You must do the Clipper at least once in your life!

I reserved and paid extra for upgraded seat and received a stsndard seat- despite the fact I arrived 1 hour early -somehow all the second deck and window seats were already gone.

We had a wonderful relaxing couples get-away. The staff were friendly, helpful, and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. We got to see three groups of whales in the 5 hours we were on the water. It was so beautiful and peaceful.
