The best tour ever!!

This was an amazing experience!! Our tour guide was Aussie - not sure of spelling - but he took us to so many amazing places! We learned some history of Iceland but then visited a bakery, a hotdog stand, a candy/souvenir store, a restaurant for lunch and also an ice cream shop to end our day. It was so wonderful!!! We loved all of the food and our guide was the best! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who would like to sample the best of Iceland!

Excellent touring experience despite volatile Icelandic weather! Tina was the best for the Golden Circle tour - including snorkelling at Silfra in a snowstorm - and Rafael found us the Northern Lights despite the stubborn cloud cover. We took part in a traditional Icelandic food tour. Our tour guide was 'OLI. We took part in a very well-organized tour through him and he provided us with a lot of interesting information. We were seated at pre-booked tables at all the stops, there was no waiting. The food offered was delicious. By the end of the tour we were well fed. Of these, I would only highlight the fermented shark meat. It was a real curiosity! The saying is true about fermented shark meat, that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Fun food tour.

This was a great way to start our Icelandic trip. We were able to sample many of the must try Icelandic foods in a fun and relaxed way.

The cat tour of Reykjavik was a fun and quirky must do for cat lovers. Our guide, Barði, was a fantastic story teller both of the current cat history but folklore as well. Despite the severe weather he was a pro at knowing where each of the well known locals ventures and spotting them. It was the highlight of our trip. Thanks again to Barði!

Purrfect Tour

Amazing. The purrfect start to our honeymoon. Our tour guide was very friendly, loved cats and showed us all the famous insta cats hiding spots. We even got to meet Volvo who was hard at work as seen on insta. Highly recommend ❤️

Hoppy Times with Garðar: The Beer, The Myths, The Reykjavík Legend

Our Beer Tasting Tour with Garðar was an absolute highlight of our time in Reykjavík. We genuinely enjoyed every pour (even the one that wasn’t our personal favorite was still interesting and well chosen!) and came away with a much deeper appreciation for Icelandic beer and brewing culture. Garðar effortlessly blended beer knowledge with stories about Reykjavík, Icelandic history, and everyday life here, so it felt like we were getting both a tasting and a mini cultural tour at the same time. His enthusiasm, humor, and clear love for his city and its beers made the experience feel warm, welcoming, and memorable from start to finish. I personally appreciated the warnings about the tourist traps and information about local swimming culture. I would highly recommend this tour with Garðar to anyone who loves beer and wants to learn more about the local culture and people! ... And drink beer. Can't forget the beer.

We participated in an amazing tour through Reykjavik in 2025 with Your Friend In Reykjavik. Our guide was very engaging and very funny, and the walk was filled with interesting tidbits about the city. We learned so much about the elves and their history in Reykjavik. The tour company even provided links to their favorite places to eat, drink, and relax around Reykjavik! They were very informative and it was very easy to find the meeting place.

Real Reykjavík Viking local tour guide

A great introduction to Reykjavík and we enjoyed meeting a local, especially on our first day here. The city hall map was a big hit with our family. Fun to end with the tastings of jams and candies.

An excellent tour.

Gardar was an excellent guide full of fascinating facts, anecdotes and historical insights. The tour covers the main sights and buildings of central Reykjavik. Highly recommended as a way of orientating yourself in a new city.

I mean it's okay

This tour is a great insight into Icelandic food but portions are small and did not leave the tour feeling completely full which for the high price point I would have expected.

Plane was delayed asked if we could move out walking tour to later in day or later in week. Was told is was not within 24 hour notice so would not accommodate a change, money totally wasted. Will never use your service again.

Palli our guide was excellent, very entertaining and very informative on the food and many other topics. We had a great time and enjoyed the food, especially the Langoustine/Lobster soup and the fish stew. All the food was very different from what we're used to and very enjoyable. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

Guide was great. We hit 5 different spots. The big disappointment was no shark and specialty shot. This was the biggest draw of the food tour. We were given an alcohol beverage at the last spot. I’m not sure if the specialty shot was included as one of the options.
