We have done this tour several times over the past 10 years. It’s always fresh, always new information, and always the best and most memorable day of our trip. David was our tour guide, and he was EXCELLENT. Everything was very safe, he explained everything we would do before we actually did it, and he was very conscientious of the variety and ages of people in his group. We started off doing a short bike ride through the town of Versailles and stopped at the farmers market to buy picnic items. Then we biked onto the grounds and explored the canals. After exploring the canals, we sat down and ate our picnic lunch next to one of the canals. It was perfection. After lunch, we biked to both the Grand Trianon and the Petite Trianon, and then moved on to Marie Antoinette‘s Hamlet. The Hamlet is absolutely fascinating and we were able to explore it much more during this trip than we’ve been able to see in the past. After the Hamlet, we went into Versailles Palace and explored it on our own. The weather was beautiful, the people in the group were oh so friendly, and David was the perfect guide and host. There’s one thing I should mention as this company moves forward under new ownership. Please do not change the name from Fat Tire to Unlimited Biking! Unlimited Biking sounds very dull and generic, whereas Fat Tire Tours gives it whimsy and personality. Many people who have been doing these tours for years will think that Fat Tire has gone out of business and will not be able to find it in the future. Viva the Fat Tire name!

We had a bike tour of Versailles, and Toby was our guide. Fantastic! No notes! He was really easygoing and pleasant, incredibly well organized and set a very comfortable and enjoyable pace for the tour. He was funny, with great and interesting anecdotes about the various monarchs and evolution of this enormous estate. The whole group had a great time. The flow of the tour was perfect, and I can't imagine we would have gotten much of anything walking the grounds without a guide. Everything was so fleshed out and colourful. Full recommendation for this company, they made the whole experience so effortlessly enjoyable.

Yael was a great tour guide and host. We got caught in the rain and she improvised so we were able to visit a museum instead of staying out in the rain. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone. it was such a fun bike ride. I went back the following day and rented a bike just to ride around by myself.
