This was a great food tour by Angel, ranging from dishes at a gourmet restaurant to market counters, street stalls and a rowdy cantina. Angel is super knowledgeable and engaging, the food was marvelous and it was four hours well spent! Come hungry!!

Amazing experience with Angel

I couldn’t have been more impressed with both the layout of the tour, the food choices and our guide Angel - he really knew his stuff and was SO passionate about his job. I skipped breakfast, did a noon tour and didn’t need dinner after either. It was all so good!

Great tour, lot's of good food. Be aware of the tour length

This was a amazing tour, I recommend it but make sure that you know what you're getting yourself into. This tour took us about 6 hours. We stopped at about 8 places. We were sooo full at the end. This tour also involves about an hour of walking between spots but the guide gave us architecture and history facts along the way.

Tasty food and wonderful guides

Camila and Mariana were great guides. They accommodated our dietary restrictions and kept the energy fun. The length of the tour was just right, and we left full but not too much. Our favorites were the specialty coffee and hibiscus beverage. A great off the beaten path discovery of Roma bites and Mexican food culture. Would recommend for families, couples or friends looking for a yummy afternoon.

I was expecting a food...

I was expecting a food tour of authentic Mexican food/ tacos stand. Our guide, Joanna, told us we were going to 6 restaurants- 3 of which she said were closed and she had to choose other ones. Felt like the experience was inauthentic.

The Coyoacan food tour was a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, vibrant and varied. Josette was the best tour guide, accomodated all dietary restrictions and allergies and showed us the tasty cuisine of the Coyoacan area.

A Perfect Way to Taste (and Explore!) Roma Norte – Fantastic Tour with Monse My wife and I absolutely loved our Sabores México food tour, led by the wonderful and energetic Monse. The tour lasted about four hours and included 10 people total. Just the right size for a fun, social experience without ever feeling crowded. We walked through the Roma Norte neighborhood, stopping at six fantastic places that showcased a wide variety of flavors, styles, and histories. We started at Kaaj, where we had a Oaxaca inspired tostada layered with black beans and shrimp, paired with a chocolaty, earthy drink that set the tone for the entire tour. From there, we headed to Café de Raíz for three tamales: corn, black bean, and chicken. Each with its own texture and the rice in the chicken one was a surprisingly twist unique to this restaurant. One of our favorite stops was Prunes, an Art Nouveau gem with an Art Deco interior, a speakeasy upstairs, and a revolving alcohol-delivery conveyor belt at the bar that’s worth the visit alone. Here, we enjoyed an alcoholic daiquiris drink along with a tuna tostada, mushroom taco, and vegetable empanada. Next came La Pitahaya Vegana, a tiny vegan spot punching way above its weight. The hibiscus fried rolled taco and the cauliflower pink taco were both creative and I found the rolled taco especially delicious. Then it was on to Mux, where we tried a huitlacoche quesadilla and beef guaxmole both with unique flavors that are helping to preserve local recipes. We finished at Café Barajas, sipping cold brew, café de olla, and Casa D’Aristi Xtabentún Decorado, a liqueur that tasted like a smoother, less-licorice version of Jägermeister. Throughout the walk, Monse kept the group energized with her enthusiasm, local tips, architectural insights, and bits of history that really tied the whole experience together. We were a little worried about getting too full with so many stops, but the pacing was thoughtful and the walking in between made everything feel perfectly balanced. Overall, this was one of the best things we’ve done in Mexico City. It offered great value, incredible food, and a chance to experience Roma Norte through the eyes of a knowledgeable and passionate guide. Highly recommended!

Fantastic tour and guide!

Absolutely fantastic food tour of Roma Norte. It was so much more than food, it was stories about the neighborhood, architectural explanations, histories of the people. And all kinds of anecdotes about each restaurant. We had eight people and everyone of us really enjoyed it. Highly highly recommend this tour.!

We just finished a walking food tour with Jossie in Coyoacan. She was great and so was the experience! We had a number of food sensitivities and allergies, and she was able to accommodate everything. We ate a variety of food and it was great to be able to eat street foods and different things that we wouldn’t have felt safe eating if we had gone on our own. I hope you go and enjoy a wonderful woman and a wonderful tour!

Incredible value do not miss.

Tamara was the very best guide we have ever experienced. The food and historical information was far more than could be expected. This is a not to miss tour. We hope to repeat it again. It’s more than just food. It’s more than just history. It’s culture and so much more. Do not hesitate to sign up.
